First field of rape seed for the season...

DooRules:

I was just reading your post here about planting Rape Seed. I have not heard of this before. So I look it up on Google and learn a lot. Just what do your do with?? Is it for Oil or cattle feed?

I use it for neither of the things you mention bud. Rape seed is the shall we say technical name of the seed but around here people just call it turnip greens. They are cut and bagged in a 1 Kg bag for sale to all grocery stores. Here is a pic of a field being cut, I use a 6' sickle bar mower slightly modified.

Literally the last go around with the disc harrow and I put her right in the wet hole, sunk out of sight on one side...doh!!! My big 9850DT, with my excavator in the shop getting a new swing motor this was a problem. Got my buddies 5440 HST and 20 mins alter all good.

I've now had my L3800HST long enough the wife is starting to get jealous. Mowed 6 acres last night with a 6’ finish mower. When finished I took a shower, grabbed a cold one and proceeded to slowly drive around our 12 acres on the tractor enjoying the ride and view. She pointed out that I would rather drive my tractor around than set on the deck and have a cocktail with her. :D

No, you tell her that after going in circles all day, you needed to unwind in the other direction... :D

Did a little mowing and showed my step son how to drive it. He said it was fun, but hurt his foot since he's still a little short to reach the pedals. He did a good job though at being 9. He'll grow into it! ;)

Re-tilled garden to soften up grass growing where nothing currently growing. A few plants got covered with a little dirt in process. Reattached FEL to tractor for weight to till with. Once done moved dirt to barn hall to refill stall with base dirt. Almost flipped sideways, just slowly backed up while holding onto handles. First time operating the FEL ever. So glad that I have a spotter called my father to help clear dirt up safely. Wore out, drinking tea to cool down, will go to cematary later once calms down this evening. First real tractor I have ever used and owned and thanks to forums and everyone help, I have learned a lot to safely operate. Tractor has yet to stall out, but has got stuck wile tilling and plowing gardens. Slightly lifting 3 way hitch helps a bit along with differtianial lock as needed driving BX2370-1.

Last weekend I used my FEL to help put 63 bundles of shingles on my roof. Never roofing again!!!

Mowed the yard today, much easier.

Replaced the seat belt. Bota dealer wanted $137 plus tax. Scored a retractable automotive lap belt from Summit for $47. It was direct bolt on and it's orange!

Hey AZ let me know how that thing runs will you
Skeets, so far I've just run it and checked frequency and voltage. Not put a load on it yet. Holds 125/246 volts at 59.6-60.4 hz. My EE son says that'll do just fine. Figure I can get 9-10 kW out of the B2320. Unit will produce up to 15kw with 25 pto hp.
I'll try and remember to do some pics with it running the well when we start irrigating.

I changed all the front axle fluids and installed my new axle vent kit from Kubota. I also painted the front rims while I had them off.

Forgot to mention when I was at the Kubota open house a few weeks ago, that I won this at the raffle! Very nice! :)
