Even better than a grapple on a loader if you have to carry the log down a trail...with trees on each side...and easy enough to make if you don't have a tractor with a grapple.
I thought the guy was about to die hooking that log up.Looks like a PITA to me. Wrap a chain around it and drag the SOB. The hell with all that other crap. If ya got enough money for a 4 wheeler, ya probably got enough money for a tractor.
Yeah I don't think that should be as difficult as he makes it look.I thought the guy was about to die hooking that log up.
One advantage is you do not embed a lot of dirt in the log if you plan on milling it into boards...dirt impacts saw blade life...Looks like a PITA to me. Wrap a chain around it and drag the SOB. I’ve skidded thousands of cords of wood and thousands of board feet of lumber with one over the years. So I don’t think it is wrongI guess using a bulldozer with a winch and choker-chain is wrong?
Skidding wood on the traffic signs in front of one's house is frowned upon in my neighborhoodSkeets, I looked at your post and for $230.... you don't get much. You'd have to have no imagination to purchase that! Your car hood, or a street sign would get the job done.
Bucktail, back when addresses were changed to accommodate 911 calls a nearby county hired a firm to help them come up with names for county roads. The firm looked up the names of the families who had settled in the county early on, and started using those names. For a few years the county had a high rate of missing signs because many folks who lived there thought they were theirs!Skidding wood on the traffic signs in front of one's house is frowned upon in my neighborhood
The tree service that took down a large leaning pine in my yard used that set up to get the chunks out of my back yard since it was too soft for a truck at the time.A log arch with a electric winch on it is the cats meow, as you don't have to unhook anything to pick up a log.
What you didn't want a skylight!I would have taken the tree down myself if it hadn't been leaning towards my bedroom.
Or a new door I'm thinking momma might have been a little upsetWhat you didn't want a skylight!
Yeppers anything that keeps the end of the log from digging in would work ,, Ya know I was just thinking, those big arsed orange road cones,, they are tougher than and old whores heart I bet they would work tooSkeets, I looked at your post and for $230.... you don't get much.
