Hi all,
First time sharing.
So far I am in love with this little guy - one year in.
I am really glad I told the dealer (Pittsford VT) I was buying the TerraKing bagger so he recommended the front weights to keep the balance.
Good call.
But when I went to put the weights on the first time I saw the upper bolts were trapped in place by the weights.
Wow. Unbolt and remove all the suitcase weights to remove the bracket - which incidentally interferes with the loader.
Sigh.
Ok. We solved this quickly by using long bolts, cut to shank length, drilled for a clevis pin with washers for spacers.
.
You can see them here.
At first I used a 8x8x16 block on a 2x8 to slip them on and off the tractor.
Then I purchased a motorcycle jack - in the picture- which makes the on and off a dream.
And I added pins to the brush guard for easy on off as well.
Then I got ready for winter this year and thought how unbalanced things were with the plow last winter and thought maybe I could add the weights to the rear. Hmmm. I have a BXpanded reciever. And I have a pintel hitch on a 2". So on to modding the hitch.
So I removed the pintel and drilled two holes in the suitcase bracket to fit the hitch.
Backed the tractor up and hitched the weights.
Handles MUCH better when the plow is raised/lowered. Almost no "bounce"
Here's the pics mounted.
Anyways I thought this mod would be useful for others in some way.
TTYL.
