First off, I have no problem paying for a copy of the WSM for a KX 41-2.

But I want to know what I’m getting before I make a purchase. I have a copy of the manual for the KX 41-3. It is excellent at over 600 pages and is what I would expect if I bought one for the KX 41-2.

I also have a copy of something that calls itself the workshop manual for a KX 4I-2. While it does have some useful information, it really doesn’t compare to the KX 41-3 WSM. Does not includes procedures on how to do anything. It does include diagrams and information that are useful.

So my questions are:

* Does anybody have the KX 41-2 workshop manual that can tell me how many pages it includes and if it includes specifics on how to make repairs?

* Does anybody know how different these two models are? I know the KX41-3 has electrical control changes. But how about the mechanicals?

I’m not trying to get something for nothing. I just wanna know what I’m going to get if I spring for 100+ bucks for the so-called WSM manual for the KX 41-2.

I haven’t made any phone calls yet to see if a source of the manual can supply me with specific information or not. Won’t do that till after Christmas. If anyone here can get me started in the right direction I’d appreciate it.

Merry Christmas!

I have a WSM for a KX040-4 that I just purchased. I’m guessing it’s a total of 400 pages with print on each side, so 800 pages of info. very comprehensive and well worth the money.

The KX41-2, KX41-2S are both different than the KX41-3

They have different motors and different control system, so a WSM not for the right model will be less than useful!

You will need 2 WSM's to cover it completely.

Appreciate the help!

I have a copy of the x443, so I now know I need the x456 manual.

Looks like the X456 manual is 900+ pages, but a combo English-French-German publication. Would rather have English only as it is probably not three separate sections, but rather a bunch of intermingled pages...☹

Google is not my friend when trying to determine if the KX41-2 and KX41-2S are different models. I have come to the conclusion that the KX41-2S refers to the “Super Series” which includes the KX41-V, and that the KX41-2 was modified turning it into the KX41-2S(V) super series.

Is this correct?

Yes as far as I can tell...

v= ariable , that makes sense. I just know friend has a -1 or -2, I was going to buy a -3(v) and it had wide tracks when seen.

Pretty sure the KX41-3S has fixed tracts. And the KX41-3V has variable width tracks.

I will check the manual I have later and if this is not the case will edit this post.
I am pretty sure that KX041-2V (Super Series) and all KX041-3 have adjustable width tracks

Not absolutely sure, but I think the S in the KX41-2S stands for Super Series, and the V in KX41-2V includes an implied S, since it is also a super series variant.

Now a question: Is the KX041-2V you refer to the same model as the KX41-2V? The nameplate on the KX41-2V that I recently bought lacks the 0 preceding the 41-2V. And it has Super Series decals on it.

The KX0 is out of habit I guess. The 0 signifies the overhang of the counterweight in relation to the front of the swivel frame. It protrudes no further than the boom attachment point so it is "0".
Recently though, Kubota never offered any extended weight on a KX41, so they did not include the 0 in the model number.
A KX041 is the same as a KX41.
The S signifies Super Series
I believe all "V" units are super series, they will have a Super Series decal although the S may not be in the Model number decal. I am not sure how it will be listed on the serial number plate.
I do not know the exact definition of the V is, but a V machine has adjustable width tracks on KX41 machines.

The labeling of KX units is very confusing, KX18-4 has adjustable tracks, but has no V designation.
