Dealer asked me to check again on the parts lookup, still don't see one listed or see it on the diagram. Anybody know if you can still get one or if there is a material to make one out of? This goes in the Air Cleaner, manual talks about cleaning it. Thanks

I am going to guess this is for a L260?
Can you provide a picture of old piece or how it is used in the filter?
Is this a "sock" that goes around the filter?

Yes it is my L260, when I bought it it didn't have one. I didn't realize it took one till I saw a partial drawing in my manual. It doesn't give much to go on. The manual says to (wash the filter net assembly with light oil or kerosene and shake off well.) This is an oil bath air cleaner on the old 1974. It appears that it around the inside of the canister part?

As a suggestion, maybe you can check for one on the K&N filter site. They have several conversion kits and K&N filters are pretty good.

Another suggestion. I have used panty hose or nylon stocking on the air intake to stop a lot of debris from entering before the filter. I currently use that for the air intake of my pickup truck.

Just so long as you aren't wearing them (panty hose) before using them on an air filter..............😀

Oh man, my secret is out.
I could not resist. Just poking at you....

Actually, I found out kind of by accident that panty hose worn under hunting clothes keeps the heat in when hunting and sitting in a blind but I don't tell my buddies I have a pair on and they probably do but say nothing as well.

Only issue is taking a leak.....lol

Okay, this is going to date me but maybe you remember many years ago when Joe Namath did a TV commercial wearing panty hose? I was in the Army and on a break during a smoke and joke session that someone remembered the TV commercial with Joe Namath and that brought on another story about how some Special Forces soldiers were in cold weather Arctic training and used panty hose to keep warm. One of the soldiers that was in the afore mentioned training said that he personally did just that. I had no reason to doubt his story because back in those days the long underwear that the Army issued left a lot to be desired. It just did not keep you as warm as panty hose did. It wasn't until after the Viet Nam war ended that the Army started to put some priority on cold weather gear. That was because our mission changed to concentrate on the cold war with Russia. If a war started with Russia it was expected that the fight would be in a cold climate.

How do you find something like this out by by 'accident'? Did you forget to take off your panty hose before you went hunting?

Quite some long time ago I scuba dived. Learned from one of the guys that panty hose under a wet suit was a big help to keep warm in cold sea water, and made it easier to get into that neoprene suit. Also useful as a filter to catch lint from the dryer. Otherwise quite disagreeable clothing items.
