L3560 & L4479 (snowblower) Combination ??

I have recently purchased a L3560 and a L4479 front mount 74" snowblower. I have found this combination works great in light fluffy snow but when I blow a small amount of heavy, wet, or packed snow I am disappointed in the power of the L3560. Does anyone else have experience with this tractor / blower combo? So far this winter, our snowfalls have been 6" or less and I am afraid I will become more disappointed when we receive a 'big blow'. I blow snow in low range / slow speed. Am I expecting too much from the L3560? Any comments or thoughts are welcome.

Welcome to the forum. 74" is a lot to ask of a 47hp engine.

That snow blower might be a little too big? I have an L3560 and the manual says Max working width for a snow blower is 67 inches and 620 lbs. This table doesn't specify front or rear mounted, however. Did your dealer supply and install it?

The PTO horsepower in same table is rated as around 30 hp at 2700 rpm, so I would assume you can run up the RPM to 2700 and get somewhat better results.

According to the Kubota specs, the rated power for that tractor is at 2700 rpm. So if you run it at 2400 rpm, you are not getting quite full power. Try running it faster, it may be enough to make a difference.

The L4479 snowblower is a Kubota blower that is compatible with the Grand L60 series of tractors (35 to 60hp.). I will run the engine at 2700RPM to see if the power improves. Thanks.

Has running at higher rpm worked out better for you I'm looking to get a cab model and was thinking about a l3560 and snowblower. My bx25d works awesome in the snow I just want a little bigger and a cab

After blowing snow several times at full throttle, (2600 - 2700 rpm) I found the increase in power to be 'marginal' at best. I concluded the L3560 did not meet my expectations. My Kubota dealer was quite concerned about my dissatisfaction as he had not previously sold this combination. He agreed that the L3560 is underpowered for the L4479 blower. He (and Kubota) gave me a proposal to upgrade the L3560 to a L4760. The $ difference in their proposal was substantially less than the price difference between these tractor models when I was initially shopping. Yesterday, the dealer delivered the L4760. The difference the additional 12 hp made was amazing!! The L4760 exceeded my expectations. From my experience, if your are looking for a Grand L60 series for snow blowing, spend the extra $ for a L4760. You will smile after every snowstorm.
Kubota and my local dealer went the extra mile to make a former New Holland customer happy. They succeeded!!

Both the L3560 & L4760 were the HSTCC models, with the cab. After blowing snow with a 'soft' unheated cab for 15 years, I felt it was time for a little comfort. (I am getting old and grumpy....) Definitely, a good long term investment.
Regarding price difference, I have not got the final bill yet, but the dealer said it will be less than $7,000 (CDN). I have been dealing with the sales rep for 20 years and I trust him. I felt this price was very fair considering that the MSRP difference between the L3560HSTCC and the L4760HSTCC is $9,700 (CDN). Because of the longer L4760HSTCC wheelbase, they had to upgrade the loader from a LA805 to a LA1055, upgrade the undercarriage for the L4479 snowblower and upgrade the undercarriage for the BH92 backhoe. The dealer also had to swap the Nokian tires (on the L3560HSTCC) to the L4760HSTCC.
This tractor is a long term investment and I felt the upgrade cost was worth every penny.

I have the same blower on my new tractor, Grand L5460..bought it last January. Even though I only had a couple months+ to use the blower, I’m very happy with the whole package so far.
It’s interesting about your conversation at the dealership, because my dealer was a bit guarded at me looking at the 35 or 40 HP with that same blower.. was afraid I wouldn’t be happy with the performance.
Like you said earlier, I’m glad I spent the extra money and got more hp.
Now we just need snow!

The L3560 is rated at 28 PTO HP, about the same as a B3350 or LX3310 and it is pushing around much more weight.

Snow blowers suck HP.

The 2015 OP above was expecting too much, MUCH too much.

I have the L4479 on my Grand L3560 and run the blower at full throttle in the anti stall governor mode. I have had no issues with the power and have blown up to two feet of snow with no issues. I have a long driveway 1/4 mile and it takes a while. The driveway is mostly hard pack and some blacktop near house. The driveway is elevated in a number of areas and I am thinking the the hydraulic angle plow that fits on the FEL may be a lot quicker and easier (do not have to remove FEL to install the four point hitch and snow blower. I have used my blower every year for four seasons and it is in good shape. The dealer is willing to trade it back for a new FEL plow (I already have the auxiliary hydraulic controls for the FEL that I use for a grappler. I believe the plow will be quicker for my application her in NH. I usually get to plowing once 6” are down. Any thoughts?
