NIW, craziest thing I ever saw...I've been to that site but opened only the local parts...I guess that's why I only saw implements. Thanks for the help. I did look, by the way, under transmission but didn't come up with the page that showed the oil screen filter. Guess I'll keep looking. :) Thanks again for the help.

I can't get to the kubota app illustrated parts list cause it don't work with apple safari (been seeing that "we are working on it" for years). On messick's parts list it is under PUMP/MOTOR SYSTEM section, HYDRAULIC OIL LINE(SUCTION). Might be same location on kubota app.
Below is where it shows at messick's:

A BX23MLB is a BX2230 with a Mower, Loader & Backhoe installed as a package when it was sold new. With factory-installed MLB brackets, the tractor becomes a BX23D, so any BX23MLB is also a BX23D.
You can look under BX23D or BX23MLB.
Just do not confuse a BX23D and a BX23S as they are different machines.
Yes, I know the BX23S is a newer production. But, it does seem odd to me, for example, that the location of the transmission oil screen filter is very different between the BX23 and BX23D. Will there be other things like that? I have never found any information for BX23MLB and very little for BX23. There may be reasons and maybe I'm just not able to get to the understanding. For someone just learning about the use of hydraulics, etc., it is not helpful to try to guess the best way to take care of a machine and/or repair it.

I do appreciate those here who are willing to offer help, taking their own time, drawing from their own experience and knowledge, etc. That is probably the only thing that will allow me to do some things along the way and it is very much appreciated.

And, my lack of knowledge comes into play here. I would never have thought to look into the pump and suction system. I have followed the breakdown at Messick's and have discovered the diagram of the correct location of that oil screen.

However, it does not explain the reason that the Operator's Manual has the wrong location! BUT, now I know.

Thanks all. We're rolling ahead with continued repairs. Life is good. :)

What manual are you using? A 2004 era BX23D is completely different from a 2018+ BX23S
in between there was a BX24, BX25, BX25D.
wgator has put up the correct diagram for your machine. It was a previous generation transmission than used in the later models.

May I kindly say one more time, this is NOT a BX23D. It is a BX23. The manual also says BX23. The BX23D was manufactured 2006-2008; this is a BX23 manufactured in 2004. Thanks for trying to help but your info is incorrect.

The BX23 / D / MLB was built from 2004 to 2005 using a BX2230D
The BX24 / D / MLB was built from 2006 to 2009 using a BX2350D
Have you looked at your serial number tag?

No, whitetiger, while I looked at the tag, I didn't pursue at the time. The manual was sent by the seller and when it said BX23, I just took it for that. All is good...I just have to compare what I see with what a diagram is showing. :)
