When you turn the key it clicks once. After trying a few times it starts right up. Had the battery tested and it's fine. Hay will be getting delivered between the rain and need to get it in before it gets wet.

Turn the key all the way to start and then using your foot move the hst pedal around in the middle of it's range. If that doesn't work, you might need to clean your battery ground cable at both ends. particularly at the end connected to the tractor. Also check the seat and pto switches. Those are the easy things

On your tractor you have 2 safety switches, one on the shuttle and one on the PTO, next time it clicks, try moving the shuttle lever and then the PTO lever a bit and see if that does it, might need to get a new switch for it.

It could be the starter relay is going out.

Other option would be that the starter is going out, the solenoid on it can get worn out then it won't engage the starter motor.

The WSM has a very good walk through on how to narrow it down, it's in S.9 .

FYI if you don't have the copy of the manual handy just ask and I'll send you the link to get it again. ;)
