GL-6500S Lowboy Won't Stay Running

Hello. I am new to the forum to hopefully seek help on this generator.

I acquired a month ago. It ran just fine for a couple hours - in the shop, during testing the gen side, and after fueling up - start up and shut down via key many times.

I know it needs a water pump, but I can't figure out why it shuts down after running for 15 seconds. Restart, and same thing. It started doing this after unloading at home.

I took a video, but it doesn't appear I can post it.

Generators usually have a low oil pressure shut down feature.

If there is low oil pressure a few seconds after starting, the engine is shut down.

Oil is full. I disconnected the low pressure switch and still have the same result. i do not know however, what signal the swtch gives.

Maybe disconnection gives the same condition, and I have to ground that switch lead to bypass / test switch operation?

You need the Work Shop Manual for your unit. Here is one of the pages from the manual.

Thank you. That page does describe the 15 second shut off. I will try find the manual. Hopefully it tells me what the Emergency Unit is - Kubota has some unique terms.

Thanks to whitetiger, she is alive and kicking. Thanks to all that responded.

Now that I know she runs again, I will get some maintenance parts ordered up, clean the sludge from the inside of the case (will run the crankcase vent outside the case), and get an extended run fuel line rigged up.

Looks like a winter project now.

Oh.....on the connector, blue wire with trace, although it appeared connected, it wasn't making contact. Something very simple caused that much grief. Part of the project will be to slightly crimp all female blade connectors in every plug on the machine. Then run a plastic tie wrap lengthwise on each male / female plug on the entire machine to guarantee none will ever again come apart unless specifically wanting it to.

In the picture attached, is said connector - it appears intact in the pic, but it actually isn't. I was able to duplicate the issue.
