I took my lift cylinder on my LA 513 loader to the dealer to be repacked and they said it was bent and pitted, could not be fixed. They said replacement was 795.
Where can I find the bore, and stroke , so I can check after market, the tractor is 50 miles awayTake it to a shop and see what they say.
Take the cylinder to a hydraulic shop that is not a tractor dealer. The down and dirty is the dealer is out to make money so selling a new cylinder is probably more money then rebuilding one. So take it to a shop which makes its living rebuilding cylinders and see what they say. Then if they say replace it ask them to measure it for you. You will need the diameter of the holes for the pins, bore stroke and inlet locations.Where can I find the bore, and stroke , so I can check after market, the tractor is 50 miles away

How many businesses do you know of that are not open to making a profit???????????The down and dirty is the dealer is out to make money so selling a new cylinder is probably more money then rebuilding one.
You missed my point. I want people to make money. That is how the world should work. I was trying to say to check with a repair shop before buying a new cylinder. The dealer is more than likely going to send a cylinder out to have it repaired then add a fee for his profit. This is all fine and good. I was saying to skip the dealer and go directly to the repair shop and save some money if it is repairable. If it is non-repairable then you go to the next step of buying a replacement at an outside supplier or at the dealer. How many businesses do you know of that are not open to making a profit???????????
Few dealers are equipped to manufacture a replacement cylinder shaft like a hydraulic repair facility, and they sure would not build it nonprofit.
