I seem to have issues tying to mow my grass a little higher. I want higher grass so that it is more healthy and requires less water. ...but right now my mower can't seem to suck up the grass laid over by the front tires. This leads to tire tracks of laid over uncut long grass in my lawn. Lowering the mower helps...but again I want slightly taller turf.
I have a Honda push mower (with a mulch kit also) for my front yard....... and I can really see it "suck" up the grass to cut it and mulches the grass much finer than the Kubota. Now my front yard is much more thick than my back yard.......and the back yard needs some leveling out (another reason I mow higher). But I used to mow the back yard with the Honda before I got my kubota and it did just fine....minus the amount of time it took to mow.
So...my main question is......is there anything I can do to increase suction on my 60" mulch kitted mower deck? The stock mulch blades have less of a ramp behind the blade compared to the regular blades. This obviously creates less suction....and I don't know the reasoning behind this design. The deck mulches fine I guess.....but I think it would do better if it could suck better.......and it might solve my laid over grass issue. Thoughts?
