yes, Ontario 'small' trailer laws are next to impossible to find and 'fun' to read....
It wouldn't hurt to put a strap on the hoe's bucket though WHERE could it go ? Mine 'droops', so maybe lower it down first then strap it. Perhap a block of wood(2x10 ?), then lower, then strap. The wood has to be taller so that the teeth 'bite in',Tension on the strap keeps everyone 'happy'.
Can anyone explain the weigh scale numbers ? I'm thinking the tractor weighs 2840#. gross loaded-gross mt-trailer mt , 10860-7120-900. I see the front end(steering) got a bit lighter (-140#). Just wondering if one can figure out the 'tongue' weight....

When you weigh a truck on a truck scale the first number is the weight on the steer axle. The second number is the weight of the trucks rear axle. The third number is the weight on the trailer axles. The last number is the total weight.

His ticket show that the front axle went from 3340 empty to 3200 loaded. This means there is a good load on the rear to make the front lighter. The rear axle got heavier from 2880 to 3360. The trailer went from 900 to 4300. This indicates the trailer is holding most of the weight as it should.

Total weight went from 10860-7120= 3740. The rear axle went up by 480 pounds.

The weight transfer to the truck needs to be around 10 -15% . 15% of 3740 = 561

So he did very well on balancing the load. He needed to transfer 374 to 561 and hit it on 480. It should ride well on paper and he said it did.

Well done!

Thanks guys, I guess driving commercial vehicles for a living paid off..lol. I'm pretty sure any trailering now will be much lighter, I did mark on my trailer so I can load the same each time. Tbh I wasnt positive about going a single axle trailer, and paid way more for this aluminum then I would have for a car tandem axle trailer. It pulls great no wobble, and the bonus is i can move it by hand in front of my garage depending what bay I need access to.

Also very happy with the tractor, im sure I made the right decision for me. I did look hard at the kioti 2610 but would have required a much heavier trailer and the dealer network isn't as good here.
