I got tired of looking at the fuse block dangling from the wire harness and sometimes making it difficult to put the battery cover back on, so I ordered a couple of four circuit fuse blocks and made it a little more professional looking. I drilled a couple of holes in the bulkhead for each block and used screws that were just long enough to secure them, but no long enough to interfere with the removable radiator screen.
The top block is for circuits that are always powered, like the shutoff solenoid and head lights.
he bottom is for all the circuits switched by the ignition switch.
I had to modify the top cover a bit for it to fit since the blocks are mounted so closely together.
The dangling fuse block was just one of those things that triggered my OCD.

Think I'd have leveled the dirt out going back to the stump. Cut the stump off at ground level, then hired a stump grinder to cut in about 12" into the ground. Then removed the dirt on the back side of the stump to make the area level.

All I have to cut it off with is a Stihl 048 and 6 blades....all of which need sharpening now!

It's been quite the adventure!

Started stone wall at the end of the driveway so was hauling stone I found earlier and gathered together for the next project.
Pushed the big old slash/log/rush windrow behind the barn deeper into the woods.
Really just playing around on a hot afternoon with the a/c on

Looks really good. I see you are using quality nylon terminals, not the cheapo vinyl ones. Nice looking crimps, too.

Chainsaws don't have blades.

The best thing I have found for sharpening chains is the Pferd Chain Sharp. I have never been able to master hand sharpening, so about 10 years ago I bought the Oregon top of the line sharpening machine, and that has been great. Nice to be able to do my own. Cheaper in the long run, too.

But a few years back I found the Pferd (also sold under the Stihl name and colors, for loyalists), and I rarely break out the Oregon now. I pretty much save that for when I hit a rock or a nail.

Every other tank I take a few licks with the Pferd, and I always have sharp chains. Takes care of the rakers (depth gauges) at the same time.

Thanks, I got a lot of practice on many previous vehicles with rats nest wiring. I also completely replaced all the avionics in my Beech Debonair a while back. That was a REAL project.

That is the strangest looking tractor that I have seen.

Repaired the left stabilizer cylinder on Katy's (L35) backhoe. Replaced one hose, the other one is no longer available. So I had to clean up and go to town. On the way to NAPA to get the hose made, I made a detour by the Kubota dealer. I'd seen some front weights there in the past and decided to pull the trigger. I've been watching Craigslist and Marketplace for some weights for the Ford 3930. It's pretty light with the 6' Bush Hog. But people are proud of their weights and often they only have 1 or 2 that match. Anyway, the Kubota salesman had quoted me about $59 per 55# weight. But when I told him I wanted 6, he said $250 total bottom line. Sold! So when I can get a bracket figured out, the Ford will be sporting Kubota weights. At least they're gray, not orange.
Then when I got to NAPA, they didn't have the hose ends I needed, so I had to go across town to Advance. Kinda high ($54 for a 1/4" hose) but I've got it, ready to put on today and finish cleaning up the spilled hydraulic fluid.

Dave -if you meant 046, you had a good saw to take care of it. Only 2 bigger in Stihl. Heck, the current equivalent of your saw is $1,200 new now. Can’t imagine what the 6xx or 8xx cost....

Now, if you meant 028, that little cuss did some yeoman's work!

That sure is an interesting place for an oil filter...on a plane or a tractor...

Removed and cleaned/degreased my steering gear box. Poured loose ball bearings out of the case but the case is in good shape. The steering shaft had broken and been welded together at some point by the previous owner so I ground that back to round as they just left the welds after it cooled and reinstalled it as it was. Just waiting on Messicks for seals and bearings to get it all back together.
