Homemade Frontlifter (3ph)

Hello my friends.
To prevent me boring to death in the lost 7 day's between christmas and new year, I decided to start with my long wish to have a front 3ph at my B1-15 (B1502)

Here is the movie:

That's the hydraulic stuff that has to be fixed somehow at the traktor.

Kubota Bulltra B1-15

That is the front with the hydraulic-connectors.

These are the weights I took off the traktor.

A look from the ground to the frame.

Brainstroming with wood, how it could be done.

More thinking.

First attachment for the joint.

Improving the stengthness and structur to weld on.

I choosed this solution to handel the force at the main joint.

Taken the structur of the frame to improve the weldings.

Some work at the lathe for the rod that hold the cylinders.

Testing that everything fit until now.

More brainstorming for the lower arms.

Yeah, Carl has fun!

Leveling the lower arms.

The welded strengthened structur.

My drilling machine is not designed for big holes.
It stopped working and in the end I figured out, it need's new coal's.

Ever tried to make a M20/1.5 thread on a V2A (AISI 304) steel?
I needed to but a pattern an the bolt so it will not turn in the vise.

Getting the holes for the bolt's at their positions.

Putting everything together. The arm's parked in the up position.

And the arm's down in the working position.

Sandblasting in my trailer below a foil.

And painting 4 layers.
Next time I should cover the workshop better with foil. It got really colorfull...

Brainstorming, like bubbles coming up in your mind.

No of course not. When I am on a business trip I have time in the hotel to think about stuff I want to do. So I have a lot of time to look around.
In this case it was nearly a year.
But it does not mean doing it perfect. of course.

It would be better when the lower arms are connectet at the other side of the block. When the traktor push now, the forces is moving them from the block away. If they would be at the inside, the forces would push them against the block and the two bolts. But maybe the two times 24mm is good enough to handel that.

After everything is fit together and connected to the hydraulic we will see if and what will fail...

But until now it looks nice at the traktor. "Pimp my trac"

I connected the old bucket, I used at the rear 3ph.
The frame for the upper link needs to be adjusted.

The bucket need to be improved, it's weak and allready bended.
And the colors are mixed up. This will be fixed when it will be restored...

I hope to find the time to get the bucket improved. And I want to weld a snowblade. Until now we had nearly no snow. But I believe it will come when you are not expecting it. Like in May or so...

And I want to weld a snowblade...

Yesterday I won a auction at ebay for a snowblade 1250x400 with hydraulic, Good size for my property and tractor, Or I add some steel.
Will post pictures when it will be added at my new front 3ph. The 'buy it now' is at $1300 and I got the same in an auction for $324. Made in Germany!!

Its already orange!!

Nice Job, Carl! Ingenious the way you can go from an idea to the actual project. I can do this sometimes with wood, but really admire you fellows who can do this with metal and hydraulics.

Carl, my questions begin with what is the relationship in distance from the top link to the pivot pin for the lift arms as compared to the same points for the factory 3pt? If the front distance is less does that mean that all the implements will work without mods to their respective mounting holes? Do you have, or have Plans for different implements that will interchange front and back? Do you have any thoughts for your next generation of projects for front implements?

Hi Carl,do you have any plans to extend the capabilities of what is already a superb piece of kit in to a low lift Fel by fitting an hydraulic ram in place of the top link?
Have you done any costing for this project with a view to knocking them out for sale?

Actually I measured the rear 3ph and did the same dimensions at the front. But the stroke is different and the upper link need to be a little bit shorter regarding the bended frame of the bucket.
To adjust normal 3ph which is designed for the rear 3ph it should be possibel to use them with an adjustment for the upper link and regarding the fix distance of the two lower links. I have measured the 3ph equipment I have and that fit in the lower link, but it can't be used with fixed pins at the equipment.
Regarding future equipment, until now I have no idea what I would need to use at both ends. Additional there is no PTO at the front.
But whatever will fit at the front it will fit at the back.
