Following along with interest. I carry my 'camp' ion the bed of my 1 ton Ford pickup, truck camper. We own property in north central Michigan but run the TC up there instead. Building there would have to be living there full time and that isn't in the cards. Just hunting property and summer camping property.
Got back to camp today to check on the floor after all the rain we had. All is good, nothing buckled or swelled to my relief. Won’t get back to work on it till Thursday when I can get some help. Have to do the 150hr mtce on my tractor so I will knock that out tomorrow morning and grease everything then lay out the interior walls for Thursday. Probably put some trail cams out on mineral sites early tomorrow morning to see what the bucks are looking like.
Spent the last 5 days fighting the rain but got a lot done for a 2 man crew. Got all the interior walls framed and the ceiling joists put up. Next trip I hope to start putting the rafters up.
Nice progress. I thought about you with all of these rain showers that we have been getting. We should get a break next week. Anyway I hope so because I have a 98 mile one way road trip sawmilling job that I need to make.
It got frustrating for a while but all we could do was wait for the rain to stop and get back to work after. Yes next week is supposed to be better but I am short on help then. Not much I can do alone at this point.
Good luck on your sawmill job , be safe out there.
Had help for a day so my son, wife and I came up to camp yesterday. Started putting up the rafters this morning after doing the layout and supports. Had a good day although the heat was brutal. Heat index of 109 didn’t make it any fun.
