Developed a leak on my lift cylinder on LA525 loader. Kubota says only one year warranty on loader and two on tractor. Working with dealer for a "Good Will" warranty as it only has 50 hrs onit.

Undoubtedly a manufacturing defect but also something super-easy to repair!

1. Wire wheel on a drill to remove the paint in the area
2. Clean area well to remove all oil/fluid
3. 3-seconds of welding with a MIG welder.
4. Wire brush weld to clean
5. Shaker can of Kubota Orange paint
6. Beer time!

My l2501 was bought last fall and the paper work says two years on loader. How old is you tractor?

Weld inclusion. Surprised they didn't catch that at the cylinder builder (whomever that was).

Little more than a 4 minute weld job to repair. Cylinder has to be removed, taken apart, the tube has to be solvent washed and cleaned an the existing weld bead ground out and the rewelded.

I would expect them to replace that cylinder due to manufacturers defect. It was probably checked with air pressure at 100 psi or so and passed. 2000 psi hydraulic pressure exposed the defect, which is visible by eye.

Flip you’re working a little faster than you used-to... takes me about 4 HOURS to do that job. :devilish:

Regardless of the warranty period... that’s clearly a mfr’g defect that is DANGEROUS and Kubota should happily repair or replace that cylinder. It might even be repaired in-situ by draining the cylinder of fluid, wire-brush and MIG weld, quickly cooing with a water hose.

Of course I wonder who the sub contractor is...... Reminds me of the latest Harbor Freight fiasco. HF recalled the 6 ton (I think) jackstands for a bad pawl and gave everyone a voucher for new ones and now the new ones have a bad weld on the support leg. Good QC by the sub.

Still waiting on response from dealer, tractor and loader were bought together in Sept.2018 so it is under a the two year warranty but they say only one year on implements. It looks like in 2019 they change from a one year warranty to a two year on the implements.
