L4240 - Couple of questions

I found an L4240 online with 500 hrs.........first question/concern, is what type of emissions does it have?

Second question what kind of price range for this tractor?

FWIW, I'm still waiting for additional info as to the transmission type, etc.

If the tractor is older than 2010 it is before Tier IV emissions. They were phased in from 2011 with full compliance required by 2014. I think the first emission standards date back to 1996 so the year of the tractor in question would dictate emission equipment at that time.

Kubota met certain pollution requirements without DPF, DEF, etc until the series following the "40" series as far as I know. Some posts have indicated Kubota has been doing "something" for many years. To my knowledge it's only been since around 2014 that they added more than some tuning / electronic to meet Final Tier IV. I bought a new L3200 in 2012 to avoid that, and when I wanted more tractor I bought the L4240 to steer clear of the DPF.

Thanks, for the info on the Grand L40 and the DPF (Regeneration)......looks as if this deal is not going to pan out, so I'll be patient and keep searching for one of the LXX40 with the right options.

There are two different submodels for the Grand L40 series. They are known as -1 and -3, but the -1 is seldom shown on the shipping sticker. One can tell the difference by looking at how the PTO is engaged. Simple mechanical lever is the earlier model and the ones with a yellow rotary electronic switch will be a -3 model. I believe the -3 models became available in 2010.

Not certain what other differences there may be, but when ordering parts it is important to identify the proper submodel.
