Anybody have a ROPS mounted canopy on a compact tractor?

I’m just curious about head room when mounting and dismounting the tractor. Before I get out the cardboard and duct tape, I figured I’d just ask if anybody has had issues hitting their head on the canopy.

How do you get into/out-of cars and trucks?

Plenty of room under my OEM Kubota canopy. I have a 10 ft garage door and need it to be that high.

Well, for starters, I get down into my car, and up into my truck, but their roofs were designed by, you know, an engineer. There is a reason vehicles are narrower at the top then at the bottom. If you notice, most vehicles the edge of the seat and top of the door opening are fairly close in line. This is not true at all with a center drive tractor with a canopy or a cab.

On my tractor, not only do I have to get up onto it, I have to also go over the transmission hump, whereas in a vehicle you sit beside it. If you remember parking with your high school girlfriend, you remember traversing the transmission hump and... I’ll just say, none of us are as flexible as we were then and leave it at that lol.

So, to sum it up, your reply appears to be complete trollery.

I built a rops mounted canopy for my B7100 and as you can see much tighter on headroom. My buddy is 6’ 1” and still has about two inches of clearance. I am 5’ 11“ and have never hit my head while driving even over the roughest terrain. Mounting and dismounting needs to be done with a bit of caution but with the various people who have driven this tractor it’s not been an issue.

I put a Yamaha golf cart roof onto a ROPS program rops on my L345dt and no issues getting in or out but my front facing light will get me if im not carefull about exiting.
I fit into an 8' garage door opening with about 2" to spare.

Well, you took my comment wrong. The point of my comment was that if you have a low ceiling you clearly can’t stand up tall without bumping into it. Getting in/out of your car or pickup you have learned or accomodated yourself to ducking your head, and it seems pretty obvious to me (and I’d imagine anyone else contemplating a canopy) that if you install one... you’re going to have something over your head and will have to “duck” if you intend to stand up. Otherwise, it’s NO DIFFERENT than getting into / out of any other vehicle.

I never have to duck to use the toilet. YMMV

L2800 here. I'm 6'1" and have never hit my head getting on or off. The steering wheel position forces you to bend over so it's not a problem.

I built a frame and put a sheet of diamond plate aluminum on my 3901. Had plenty of room for one week. A tree fell on my tractor and center pegged that canopy. It was sacrificed with no other major damage to the tractor.

Talk about wrong place at the wrong time lol. Glad nobody got hurt and no major damage.

Not to hijack the thread, but is it possible to fold the ROPS with a canopy attached in order to get through a garage door? I have often wondered myself about a canopy but I just don't have the space to get anything through with ROPS up.
