Does anyone have the LP SA20 auger and use it on a BX? It says 6-30 GPM, and the 2680 says it has 6.2. I know I can hang a 3PH one much cheaper, but I am about to do a bunch of fence, and I think forward is always easier than backwards.

PS...I am not renting a PHD, I already have a 1 man PHD in the shed, and I'd just use that before I rented. It has served me well for hundreds of holes, but I'm older and more broken now, I'd rather use my new orange shovel to do this type of stuff.

We discussed a bunch of them during a recent project I did,
https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45690

Is that 6.2 gross or at the 3rd function remote?

There are links to youtube videos of the SA20 working. IMHO it is not geared toward the lower flow units.

I have been really happy with the Auger Torque unit I have - the X1100-13
https://www.augertorqueusa.com/product-range/earth-drills/mini-excavators-1t-to-3t.html They do have one unit smaller/shorter as well.

They sell the mounts and plates, or you could fab up what you wanted.

Skidsteersolutions.com also have some plates for mounting.

And I just noticed the other day that Titan now has just the plate to mount an auger to,
https://www.palletforks.com/skid-st...kid-steer-auger-frame-and-bracket/192030.html

Personally,

I like the control it gives using the hydraulic vs PTO
I like the downforce ability
I LOVE reverse
I like the height way better than the PTO (not sure about the BX lift height)
I like the right/left option for the drill.
I like the comfort and control of doing it sitting up facing forward
I like the bucket controls for helping maintain the hole angle

Con. I didn't like the cost (but it has now paid for itself so I am not complaining)
Con. You could easily tip yourself over using too much downforce with the bit all the way up.

For me up in NH it is tough digging and you tend to get the PTO units stuck, so I really wanted reverse.

My main questions for you is do you have an actual available flow of 6.2 and does it lift high enough to put a bit on and drive around.

I put in a call to the dealer, waiting on service manager to call me back, but the Kubota site says the SA20 is BX, L, MX, M Matched series, so I imagine it should work. Can't really find a price anywhere on it so far online, but I imagine it's approaching 2 or 3K. I will be using the tractor later so I can raise up the bucket and measure from the ground to the pins, but again, Kubota says I can use it on there, so I imagine I can. Not sure if they rent one, because I could rent it and do a couple holes on my fence line to see if it's worth buying. After I install a 3rd function, I guess that'll be step 1.

I paid 1350.00 for the AugerTorque delivered.

Is that with an auger and the QA mount? If so, I'm already sold, the 900-9 looks like it would work on a BX, and no way LP can beat that kind of price. Still no callback from the service manager. Shocker....not. Guess Land and Coates of VA gives a crap about you after the sale.

So 2 minutes after this post, they called me back. They "came to an agreement" amongst themselves that it probably isn't recommended, even though Kubota says it's a BX series match. They say they "think" the 3rd function will drop pressure a little, and that operating at 6 GPM is with no load.

The earth drill 900-9 says 4-9 GPM, so even if the 3rd function dropped me somewhere like 5.5-6 it should work fine. After I get the 3rd function put on, I'll call and talk to the earth drill guys.

I put in for a quote on the tiny one, since I have a tiny tractor. 6.2 is the gross tractor hydraulic flow. The auger I asked for a quote on is only 3 feet long, and I'd get a 12 inch extension. I think that'll do for any fence I ever do.
