Yep I changed the filter on the log splitter and ,well you know how, no mater how much time you take to make sure oil goes only in to the pan,, YEAH it don't,, So now I have a large spot on the concrete where auto tranny fluid leaked from around all my good packing to stop it from leaking out. I mopped it right away but to no avail,,,,, oil spot !
I know Im not the first and wont be the last, and I need some ideas how to clean it up, something short of a thermonuclear reaction would be nice or an I just going to have to live with it?

The best thing I found in 25 years in the military working on heavy equipment in a concrete floor shop is a wire wheel on a grinder.

Put oil dry or kitty liter on it and step on it to grind it into the concrete. Allow it to soak up as much as it can. Sweep it up and pour powder Tide laundry soap on it and grind it into the concrete with your heal. Let it set for a day and then power wash it off.

WHAT bigg said except,, pour paint thinner,,, mineral spirits on it first and rub it in. Then sprinkle the kitty litter on it and let it sit overnight. 40 years of cleaning concrete floors in a transmission shop!!!

ZEP concentrated degreaser (same stuff Wolfman uses) works well.

Truckers add DAWN dish washing soap to laundry to remove 5th wheel grease from clothes and videos on TV they use it to wash crude oil off ducks, don't know why it wouldn't work on concrete.

Yep, Zep Purple cleaner. ;)
Question...

When you use ZEP, do you cut it per the directions on the jug or do you use it full strength when you wash down a tractor? I've been cutting it., do you dilute yours?

The Menards here sells it in 5 gallon plastic containers.

If you're going to call someone out by name on a forum, at least spell it correctly. If you're not sure, don't post it.

0° fitting on a power washer always worked for me. Slow going but it'll work that stuff out pretty ok. I also started putting cardboard down underneath stuff too. I found that when I put something down underneath the pan to catch my screw ups magically nothing drips. Then the one time I don't you'd think that BP just rolled through.

Big fan of cardboard myself, with the same results. I save all large cardboard; neighbors get a washer/dryer/fridge/etc, I go scrounge the boxes. Always comes in handy.

A big spill, a mix of Diesel/Gunk and a stiff bristled shop broom then hit with a hose. But that is me and 'old school'.
ZEP, Simple Green and a few others seem popular as well. If you 'wash it', can you let the discharge just go into the gravel drive or do you have to worry about where it ends up?
