B2650 vs LX2610

I took a few minutes to compare the B2650 and the LX2610. I was looking for something that would make me choose one over the other. Spec for spec they are almost the same tractor. They use the seemingly use the same engine. They are about the same size. The loader on the LX has LESS rated capacity than the B2650.

All things considered, I guess that it comes down to this. I would buy the less expensive of the two. Or..............if Kubota drops the B2650 from their line, the decision would become easier.

My understanding is the LX is replacing the B50 series. I would think the B50 series will have some flexibility in price as the new replacement LX comes on the lot.

I think one main feature with the LX is the quick detach loader.

As of today, the B50 series is still shown on the Kubota website. I had thought that the B50 series was going to go away. It is interesting to me that the loader is rated at a lower capacity on the LX.

Kubota is also showing the LX as 24.6 HP. The same engine at the same RPM was rated at 26 HP in the earlier B2650's. It was also rated at the same 19.5 (calculated) PTO HP. I was told that they "doctored up" the HP to get below the 26 HP mark so as to get past particulate re-burn.

Consider this. The engine horsepower rating was reduced, but the PTO HP was not reduced. Does that math work?

OH well, this is just me me a little bit cynical. I am sure that they are both great tractors. If I had to choose again between orange or green, I would still go orange.

The LX2610 is replacing the B2650 but Kubota still has B2650 tractors to sell. Aside from the FEL, and the introduction of the LX2610SU, differences are trivial. No change in engine or HP aside from rerating.

Considering the popularity of the B2650, I would not expect special pricing.

The new FEL is "Swift-Tach" with optional mechanical self leveling. I expect any small decrease in capacity is related.

I looked at the video from Messicks regarding the new loader. I don't think that the difference is caused by the "Quick-Tach" hydraulic couplings. I think that it might have more to do with self leveling, or parking stands with a release the operator can reach from their seat.

At any rate, 435 KG = 957 lbs vs 534 KG or 1174 lbs. I am not interested in giving up 217 of nominal capacity for a couple of features that probably won't get used much. As a matter of fact, self leveling might be more of a hindrance in some applications. I kind of like the level indicator I have. I can level the bucket myself. The quick attach hydraulics is just the kind of thing that sells small tractors. I can just hear the salesman pointing it out with glee.

I thought the B2650 got the LA534 loader not the LA434. I think the capacity between the LX and B50 should be the same (or very similar) as they use the same loader - give or take a little because of the new Quick-Tach feature.

The FEL offered for use on the LX series is the LA535. Mechanical self leveling is optional. Not sure if Swift-Tach is standard or optional.

On the B2650 you can still get a 3rd rear remote valve, and choose between 54" pin on or QA bucket and 60" pin on or QA …. on the LX there's no options …. just 54" QA bucket. And like mentioned, self leveling loader option. LX has 7 tire choices ... B2650 has 5.

I thought the B2650 got the LA534 loader not the LA434.

The B2650 has the LA534 FEL, at least mine does, and I purchased in the summer of 2019.

In the LX brochure the only FEL offered is the LA535 and it SSQA standard

I looked at an LX2610 at a dealership here in Ontario, Canada this past weekend. It was the ROPS model. They were closed and I was just driving by quick so I didn't really go in to see if they had any cab models assembled or on pallet in the back of their yard.

I took delivery of a new 2650 about 2 weeks ago and was told by the dealership that unless they specifically ordered one in, that mine was most likely the last one they would send off the lot. They also weren't expecting the LX's in until June/July. Their opinion, same tractor different badging.

Contacted my local dealer yesterday and they are sold out of B2650's! (Land and Coates in Central VA) They are also very low in all BX, B01 and L01 units. Sales manager told me it was a very busy spring for the BX, B and L's.

He did mention they can work deals on L4701s and MXs. Guess I am waiting for a LX2610.

my understanding is the LX2610 is exactly the same tractor as the B2650, don’t know why the loader specs. differ. The new tractor is the LX3310. I think they changed model lines from B to LX for 2 reasons, the B3350 got such a bad rap, they needed to dissociate the replacement as much as possible, and the B line up was too confusing to new customers with 2 much different from sizes.

What I think I know - SSQA is standard on FEL adds a few pounds, Loader arms have extra steel (optional parts can be added for mechanical self leveling). I think is has the hydraulic coupler used on BXxx80 series. New LX seems to have lost around 80lbs lift capacity

My local dealer suggested calling the next.closest two, as they do have 2650's in stock. A nice thing to do.

SDT, one of these dealers has multiple 3350s with few hours and loaders for 16500 or so. I assume you would say a 3350 run at proper rpm and regen cycles is totally a safe bet. My local dealers and I talked about 3350 problems once. They claimed with the newest software,if the tractor is run properly there is no problem in our warm climate.
