Can someone tell me what part this is on my kubota L285. It***8217;s part of the Hydraulic system. I didn***8217;t know if it***8217;s a filter etc. It has a label explaining cleaning instructions but most of the writing is worn off.

(Sorry, pics are rotated 90 degrees)

Thanks! That’s what i was thinking but all I could find info about was the suction filter behind your left foot rest. I’m guessing you remove the screws at the bottom of it and the filter comes out?

And you can probably still order the label from Kubota if you’re interested in what it says. May not be able to understand it completely since the translation is lacking in some cases but generally clear enough to get the gist.

If you have difficulty with cleaning or parts, you can remove it and install a typical threaded filter. Total cost about $30, if I remember correctly.

How exactly would I do this. Is there a universal kit? Thanks a lot for any info. I would definitely be interested in this.

Here's a couple of pictures. This was on an L305. Pretty much the same vintage, just a tad bigger machine. One picture is stock, and then the modification. The steel brackets are part of a loader frame.

You just need the filter head that fits the size of hose, and a hyd. filter that fits the head. Local auto parts, or Northern Hydraulic, or similar store.

You're welcome. I was trying to find the hyd filter part number, but haven't! Something around 15 microns would work fine, I'd think.
