Out here, Fed and UPS do a great job and leave the packages by my garage door or if small enough on the porch. USPS, well if you need it quickly, don't use USPS. I hate that smart ship stuff Fed and UPS do with USPS. It gets to USPS in a day and then takes them another 7-10 to decide to deliver. Most of the time they send it to Mansfield which is a few hours north of me, because West Mansfield has to be the west of Mansfield. You think they would look at the Zip code seeing they designed it. Usually pings around there for three or four days, goes back to Columbus for a couple more then out to my local office. I'd gladly pay an extra couple bucks to get Fed or UPS to handle the entire process internally.

I'm thinking of ordering a 4' disc harrow from EA and had wondered who the freight carrier would be.
I just picked up a core aerator 2 weeks ago from EA, it was delivered to a FedEx freight location about 1 hour from my house. I have 2 locations to pick from when I buy from EA, one in Raleigh and one in Hope Mills NC.
Have picked up 2 items from the hope Mills location no problems either time. Sign for it and it is loaded on my trailer and off I go. Do like me some EA implements well built and great people to deal with.

My main complaint with EA is they won't deliver to my home office. Every other provider pulls up out front and we unload whatever they have. Not EA. It has to go to a "company" address or freight depot.

The last time, the driver calls from the road about 10 minutes away, I told him the company where it is to be delivered was at lunch and he had to wait until lunch was over, or drop it off at my house. He dropped it off at my house. It is funny because you can pull a road train up at my place with no issues at all. My friends company "loading dock" is a nightmare to use and many drivers just can't do it and they all complain.

Anytime I order from Titan etc. they deliver right to the house.

I'm happy to report that everybody can rest easy…..the “Eagle” has landed. :D FedEx called and said the shipment was now at its destination and could be picked up. I picked it up just before noon today. The Travelocity Gnome must have jumped to another ship in Harrison and redirected my grapple back to Grand Forks. The pallet was a little broken up with the hose fittings being pinched but otherwise all looks good. I'll try to get it mounted and checked out soon. Hopefully all will be well.

My complaint with FEDupX is that they will never, under any circumstances or instructions, ring my damn doorbell when the drop something off. If we have a package due, we must constantly check the stoop, or the porch pirates will get it. UPS & USPS both ring when they deliver.

That's strange. Fedex is the only one that rings my doorbell even though I don't want them to. If somebody wanted to take it off my porch, they'd have to get past the gate and down 1000' of driveway first.

Nope, residential street, and he never pulls in the driveway. Could still put one in, and take photos of the porch pirates.

Well drat. There went my evil plan of snatching it, and holding it hostage for a case of TP :( [emoji14] :)

Glad they got it together and shipped to ya. :)

ROFLMAO - Unions have never "given" anything. All they do it take, They do not produce anything and they do not benefit any companies. They hardly even benefit employees anymore.

When kids were worked in the old days, unions had some use. Today all they do is suck about 20% out of the middle of a companies production.

Looking at the participation decline around the country, most people agree.

The government will be the last to be shackled by unions (not a surprise) they need the most protection from working.
Correct (and I'm back with my laptop as well...:)). Back in the day unions had their place far as negotiating health benefits, working conditions and retirements but the day of the union has past. All unions do today is protect low output workers and suck money in the form of union dues to support the union bosses lavish lifestyles. Look no farther than the UAW. If it wasn't for the UAW, the cost of a vehicle would probably be half what it is today. I bet 50 percent of the vehicle cost is in paid union benefits.

The government is mostly unionized btw. My wife worked for the DOD and was union, AFGE. So is the post office and the main reason why the PO looses money every year. Unions have their place, but that place grows smaller every year. I was in the Teamsters for many years, worthless union. I quit a union job and went to a non union company (similar to FedEx and made more every year with equal benefits because my employer understood that his employees had to make a good wage with good benefits for him to retain us.

Daren, sorry your well laid plans were foiled. On the bright side, you didn't get your outfit wrinkled by not having to grapple with the oversized loot! :D

Thanks for the laugh!! :D

The FedEx crew here great in fetching and loading the pallet onto my trailer.

Hey bird dogger, now you have retrieved your grapple and finished the hydraulics installations, and we are supposedly finishing up with winter (it's actually snowing here on the green grass), any chance you could turn your sewing skills to some Kubota face masks? We are likely to be wearing them for a long time, at least around town?

Hi sheepfarmer! Now there's an idea! :D You got me thinking, and just by chance I had purchased some lightweight "blaze orange" nylon material for a future sunshade/canopy project. I dug it out this morning to take another look at it and remembered it'd been treated to make it virtually waterproof. Hence, non breathable material. Dang! Your custom designed mask will have to wait a lil while. Sorry. :) Please stay safe!!

david

You’re showing your lack of knowledge and your willing acceptance of ignorant rumor.
The reason the PO makes no money is because it is so-MANDATED by Congress.
(Do you want it to make a profit off your postage? DOH!)
The only union bosses that have/had lavish lifestyles was the TEAMSTERS ( to which you apparently once-belonged) because the Teamsters were CROOKED and MAFIA-controlled (and why Jimmy Hoffa disappeared...then Teamsters put Hoffa’s SON in charge to continue the crookedness) ALL of which is why AFL-CIO (the real unions) KICKED THE TEAMSTERS OUT!
If you think a huge corporation is primarily worried about YOU then it explains why things are as screwed up as they are these days. Unions: models of democracy, which hold that it is the WORKER who is more important than stockholders. Unions understand that if Bubba can afford to buy a new F-150 this year... we don’t have to worry about Ford Motor co.
