I got my new 40/60 very happy with the tractor. Looking it over I am wondering why they didn't put a skid plate in front and under these hoses. Seem like they are exposed to damage. Has anyone than any trouble with this .

Do you mean and L4060?
As a 40/60 doesn't mean anything besides maybe a water antifreeze mix?
And if so what model
L4060DT
L4060GST
L4060HST
L4060HSTC

Re: 40/60

Paul Short of Specialty Repairs makes some nice add-ons for the 60 series Kubota tractors. I have his 3rd function hydraulic hose protection plate, and high flasher guards. Quality stuff.
You can find him on YouTube, and he occasionally posts here.

What are the high flasher guards? I've already replaced one of the flashers on the rear roof after only owing the tractor a short time.

Otherwise, love my L4060. I'm assuming the OP is calling is a 40/60 to designate a 40HP version of the 60 series tractor. That's fine, but we all knew that by just using the actual model name.

I knocked the lenses off last winter, but found them after an hour or two of backtracking my driveway route.
There are likely cheaper alternatives, but Specialty Repairs cannot be beat when it comes to quality, fit, and finish.

Thanks, those do look like they'd do the job. I've seen some of Paul's videos.

Is that an IAFF sticker? My B.I.L. is a captain here...

It is. I retired after 30 years as a Lieutenant (7 years ago).

Excellent. Enjoy your tractor, and thanks again for the light guard tip.

I have the L3560HSTC and just ordered the 3rd function protection plate myself. I also got the step set up for the BH92 back hoe stabilizer piston. I looked at the flasher guards but I just adjusted the bracket and placed the lights just to the rear of the tractor cab, problem solved.
