I have been looking for a 60” bolt on Reversible Cutting Edge for our bucket. I only found one from Paumco (that was 3/4 inch thick and weighed 102 pounds) and Titan that was 1/2 inch thick (not sure of its weight). Is the Paumco one too heavy for the B2650 and does anyone have any recommendations of other suppliers?

I am also new to owning anything beyond a John Deere 318. I also have a B2650. Here is what I know. The 60" bucket is considered a "light material" bucket. My bucket is 54". My loader frame is a LA534.

Weight added to the front reduces capacity (especially at the bucket's farthest point forward. It also means that more ballast is needed. 100 lb is a lot of additional weight!

Having said that, I also want to add a cutting edge to my bucket. Would a bolt on be lighter? I don't know, but I am going to check. My thought is to use a bolt on. I will have to drill the holes once. After that, I would anticipate just grinding off the bolts to reverse or change the edge. You know that they will rust and won't move ( Just like my Fisher plow cutting edge).

I feel that if we can get one that is about 1/2 inch thick, it would weigh close to 50 pounds which would be more reasonable. I prefer the bolt on because we want the ability to reverse it.

Not reversible, but many folks here have Piranha Tooth Bars (PTB).

I think vast majority are very happy with them. Try searching this forum for "Piranha" to see some of the discussions/reviews.

They produce them for all sizes of buckets.

I've had one since my tractor was new. Have never taken it off.

Here's a couple recent threads - there's many - - -they do get talked about quite a lot:

I have the piranha with the 60" "light duty" bucket on my B2650. It's a great combination and you can still back blade by keeping the bucket flat. I'd guess that the piranha comes in at about 50 lbs, perhaps a bit lighter. The blade comes off in a minute, so its really not a big deal to remove/install.

Recommend adding Rim Guard to Rear wheels. Adds 300-400 pounds of ballast. Weight in tires is resting on the ground (lower center of gravity) and not on tractor frame. Ballast box, box blade, ect can still be added for more ballast.

I have had a Piranha TB on 3 tractors and wouldn’t be without now. There is a copy / improved version from EA. They use a harder steel I believe, but the Pirahna from BXPanded has worked well for the last 5 years for me.

I installed one on my B2650, exactly what you are wanting to do. I bought one for a bigger tractor, from my Kubota dealer. I centered it on the bucket and used a mag drill to drill the holes for the bolts. I then just trimmed off the ends to the right length with 4 1/2" grinder. Works perfect and weighs under 50 lbs.

I also tacked on a filler strip to support the back of the cutting edge.
