I enjoy the posts about the need to add a guard to the front guard. They inspired me to try one for myself.

That looks excellent. I'm picking up my EA Grapple this week, and I like what I see with how you fabricated yours. Hope you don't mind if I copy it as I will need front end protection with my new grapple. ;)

Thanks. A grapple is what made me decide it was a good idea. I don't always look before I leap!

A very cool guard,, how did you bend the flat stock?

Nice!

I did the same basic style....

Next, I did the filter guard(s)....haven't got to the fuel filter guard fab yet....but it's on the "to-do" list!

I used 5/16 square cold rolled for the frame so it wasn't too hard to bend. First made cardboard cutout for the top and bottom opening as a guide. Bench vise and BFH to sorta-kinda match the template and "tweek" to fit.

I decided to mount it internally to the frame because the front shape would be rather complex with the horizontal bars not being planar to the front contour. I didn't want it on the back side (which looks good by the way) because of the hand abrasion potential whenever I raised the hood.

Very cool! I don't have any welding skills, would like to buy one of these for mine! There's definitely an aftermarket for these but I have yet to see anyone jump on it.
