I have an MX5200 HST and the front of the tractor seat is
partially separated from the rear. I was thinking about gluing
them together with something like Gorilla Glue or is time to
think about getting a new one. I have always been frugal
but the younger generations are calling it cheap and a character defect.

Gorilla Glue sounds tough and a fix all, but it is a sorta expanding foam. It must be clamped and even then the squeeze out is messy and the final product is not very flexible.

I replaced mine with a seat from a well known aftermarket supplier but sadly it is not waterproof and the foam soaks up rainwater. It's a pain having to keep it covered.

Probably expensive but I would consider a genuine seat from Kubota.

Rural King has some nice Grammer clones. I bought one for my OS M9. The covering is waterproof Cordura and it's comfortable, more comfortable than the stock seat was by a long shot. Ditched the stock Kubota suspension along with the seat. Actually, my neighbor took it, what for, I have no idea.

My Cab M9 has a Grammer air ride from the factory. Nice seat.

I dislike vinyl covered seats. Guaranteed sweaty butt in the summer.:D

My MX5200 seat is tore up. I am more looking for a better replacement. Have been looking for a while, but have not come across anything decent that will fit the MX. Anyone else had any luck?

Are you just recommending I replace the seat or the seat and suspension. Do you have a company to recommend??
If you would like a little more comfort, I would recommend doing both.
But if your happy with the feel, save some money and just get a new seat. ;)

I buy a lot items off ebay, or amazon saves me quite a bit of time and money.

Sorry can't tell you where your reply went.

Yes it is, I agree but... People need to go look at various suppliers and decide what they want, all there on the net. I gave the OP a place to look, if they don't and keep asking the same question over and over, it earns a...duh.

You can get a new seat at TSC or just about anywhere farm supplies are sold. Far as seat suspensions, Rural King and Seats Inc. sell them along with seats of every description but one has to look for themselves...

Sidecarflip, the duh was rude period!

Josef, I would be more than happy to point you to some seats to help you out. Do you like the ride how it is or would you like a softer ride?
Any preference on cover material, I personally like the water proof cloth covered seats as they are cooler. :D

Josef, here's a nice seat. Look around the internet before purchasing because you may find a bargain. I found these last year on a close out sale for $50. That was obviously an unusual find.

I have one on a B7100 and L4240. The B7100 couldn't use anything any larger. I had to make some modifications, like raise it a bit.

WOW, the price really skyrocketed from the Rural King price last year (remember I bought one too)... Put the K&M low profile suspension under it (also from Rural King for an additional 125 bucks. Worked out excellent. Good suspension, excellent seat. In fact, looks just like the Grammer I have in the Cab M9 except that one is air ride.

50 to 250, helluva jump....

It was actually that $249 price when Rural King had them for $49 (or whatever it was) including shipping. RK was apparently just switching brands and wanted to clear out what they had. The sale was over in about 10 days!

The base of my factory seat on the L4240 had rusted metal which caused the seat to flop on the left side within the base. I was going to just order a new seat from Coleman's, but it was a bit over $1100 (yes, that's eleven hundred)!

I think this seat is more comfortable then the stock one.

Your 'bargain seat' is actually more comfortable than the Grammer I have in my cabin tractor. Of course that one is air ride but for support and adjustability, you cannot beat the RK seat. Like I said, I added the low pro seat base from RK and the swivel plate too. All 'plug and play' as they say or should I say, all ISO.

Again, thanks a bunch was an outta sight deal. I see they aren't on the RK website anymore.
