Ok this is for the cold weather OTT folks. I have been storing my hydraulic implements (ie: FEL and backhoe) in my shop during the winter for freeze protection (not sure why I did this other than it sounded good at the time). I do have an outside covered area to put them. So here is the question, Will they be harmed while being exposed to possibility -15°F? If it is safe what precautions do I need to take to keep them working correctly in the future?

The stockpoint of hydraulicoil is around -35°C (-31°F). So you can keep it outside. Regaring the cylinders, rod should be inside. That is what I do with my stuff...

They should be fine, that how they have been stored for generations in my family.
One word of advice, put stickers under them so they don't freeze down.

When I take off my Backhoe the dipper rod and stabelizer rods will not be able to retract inside. How should I protect them?

Just so I got this right.........

1) Place wood under the implements.
2) Spray WD-40 on the exposed portion of the cylinders.
3) Rest assured that in spring I'll be able to use my stuff with no issues.

Do I have it right??????
