I noticed the grommet on the floor of my cab where the steering shaft passes through was completely pulled out, leaving a hole. I was able to reset it. There is a metal clip on the small end of the grommet that seems to cause the whole grommet to twist as the steering is turned. Anyone else have this issue with their 60-series?

Paul Short did a tech tip video on this grommet problem. The following is a link to his utube video about it, starts at about 6:20. Link to video CLICK HERE

Thanks! I've seen some of his videos and this is exactly what my problem is. I'll lube the shaft later. Hopefully my pedal doesn't corrode either. I do like the look of the aluminum pedal over the plastic one though.

If you pedal isn't corroded yet I suggest you use Shark Hide on it to keep it from corroding, link: .sharkhide

Actually what your calling plastic is not plastic at all. It’s a rubber coating over the aluminum pedal to prevent it from corroding. With the 60 series Kubota decided not to rubber dip the HST pedal causing the problem. I had Kubota reps here and made them aware of the issue.

Thanks (Paul?). I still do like the aluminum look though, just need to keep it from corroding.

Keep your boots out of any salt and yours should be ok. Spray something like Fluid Film down there as well helps. I’m after doing 1/2 dozen of them up to this point. The pedal assembly is identical to the 40 series except for some reason Kubota failed to dip it in rubber on the 60 series. I asked Kubota Canada reps that visited us about it and could never had the answer of why Kubota did it that way. Maybe they want to sell a few pedal assemblies now.
