I remember once reading or being told something very simple.

Low: is for Loader work
Med: is for Mower work
High: is for Highway travel (not for work)

very simplistic but about right I think. Medium depends I guess on alot of other variables like thickness of what is being mowed, size/type mower, etc...

but since High is what we are talking about in this thread my B2620 and L3301 won't do much work at all in high but both sure run nice on paved/gravel/dirt roads as I transport between work areas and not under load.

So I broke down and took the tractor to the dealer and after almost two weeks of waiting they got it fixed. What had happened was the two springs on the brake pedals had come off. The weight of the pedals and linkages was just enough to cause the brakes to drag. This wasn't too much of a problem in low and medium. However as all of you know high gear is pretty gutless to start with. So the added drag of the brakes was what was causing it to stall the engine. They replaced the two springs and it works just like new again.

it’s odd that both springs broke at only 48 hours, any reason given for that?

Thanks for following up. I'll find those springs on mine and check them periodically.

The dealer said they had not had this happen before. They contacted Kubota who also seemed surprised by it. Kubota told them to replace and monitor. Dealer said if it happened again to let them know so they can report it to kubota again. The only thing they could really think of is that the tolerances are tight between the two springs and maybe they were rubbing or got tangled somehow but they were just guessing. I will at least know what to look for if it happens again.

I will at least know what to look for if it happens again.
And a whole lot of L2501 owners will now be crawling under their tractor to look at these springs now.............. Was under there greasing pivots recently and did not specifically check the brake pedal return springs, will now.

Wonder how much wear/tear that added to the brakes...and if K will warranty a replacment.
