I will here by add, should you elect to have a knee or hip replacement. Be sure you obtain an ID card for whom ever did it. This card will be used by TSA should you fly. These replacements will set off the alarms,,just sayin

I have both hips replaced. At the airport I have to use the scanner not the metal detector.

When I go to the local Courthouse I use the only thing they have, the metal detector, and it doesn't even sound the alarm. When I asked the Deputy why, he said it was because the devices are inside of me. And this happened at three different Courthouses.

So I guess the moral of this story is, If you want to take a gun into the Courthouse just shove up your.....

Yep, I have one for my shoulder replacement. Not that I intend to fly in one of those aluminum cattle cars anytime soon.

It doesn't set them off because the parts are nonmagnetic, probably titanium, beryllium, stainless steel or ceramic.

I just had a Total Knee Replacement on Nov 18th. I completed my in-home PT Wednesday, made my first post-op Doctor's visit yesterday, and began my outpatient PT today. So far all is well. :)

I am at 110 degree flexion and 10 degree straight. Since the bending is progressing nicely, the PT is concentrating on the straight leg. I have homework to do twice each day.

Have needed a knee replacement for over 3 yrs now. They wouldn't do it until I got my BMI under 40. Starting in August I realized I couldn't keep going like this due to the constant pain and started serious weight loss. Lost 30 lbs and the Ortho Doc two weeks ago said let's go. Hallelujah.

Last week my regular doc said he wanted to take an EKG just to be sure. Of course he finds a PVC (I always thought that was pipe!) in my EKG and won't OK me until they can resolve it. Getting darned hard to walk.

Had both overnight Holter monitor and stress test back in June with everything then showing as OK.
