Mount aftermarket temp gauge on BX2360

Got my hose insert and temp gauge for my BX2360. This is the gauge I got:

I'm trying to find a good place to mount it - has anyone done this to a BX23? Any ideas? I thought about mounting it under the steering wheel but can't get up in there to put a nut on and there are a couple of hydraulic hoses that run up in there that I don't want to mess up. So I'm thinking about on the left side of the instrument panel in the black plastic trim. Other than that i have no ideas LOL.

Wouldn't it just be easier and better to fix it properly?

Yes if I had $300+ laying around to buy a replacement instrument cluster that will probably fail again in 3-4 years. The gauges in my cluster are toast but the warning lights and hour/tach meter work fine. I don't need a fuel gauge because it's easy to look in the tank and see the level. I just want a temp gauge that works.

I just ordered this pod:

I think I can mount it on the black cowling in front of and above the instrument panel. Should help weatherproof it too.

Got it all installed today. The pod is a little but too long but it will do. Temp was about 165 rising to just under 180 with the 60" belly mower in use. The gauge is fairly accurate checked with a laser thermometer.
