Guys... this is for my neighbor. I watched as his 2015 BX2370 with his RCK60B-23BX (577 hours) get hauled off to the dealer for the second time for the same issue. all within 6 months time. The drive pulley off of the gear box came loose making for huge vibrations, belt wear and the idler pulley tension spring breakage. 2nd spring in past 6 months.

The first time the dealer had it they replaces the shaft key and reinstalled the original pulley.... they told my neighbor that was all that was wrong and all is good now. Fast forward to today... same issue.

This tractor really super looks like it is BRAND NEW and is meticulously maintained to the n'th. degree... he is more anal about his tractor than I am mine.... and that is saying something.

Is this a BX MMM recurrent issue... could there be a recall that covers this??

This is the first time I have seen the BX 2370 deck removed from the tractor. I could not believe its light construction... my B2410 RCK60-24B weighs at least a third more. WOW!

I'll bet the mechanic working on it isn't using loctite on the set screws for the pulleys. ;)

Wolf.... I looked up the RCK60B-23BX parts diagram for the gearbox and pulley assembly. I see the box, shaft, shaft key and pulley..... but for the life of me I don't see any set screws. If you would point me in the right direction as I am obviously experiencing a massive brain fart. :D

These decks do not have any set screws, the pully is a press fit on the shaft. If it wore the key, then the shaft and pulley were also worn and should have been replaced. The blade retaining bolt clamps the pulley to the bearing and blade hub.

If they do not replace the output shaft, key, and pulley, the pulley will loosen again.

Sorry Butch, this is one of the few rare instances that Kubota pressed a part on, I never even looked at the schematic.

Thanks Whitetiger for jumping in and setting me straight. :D

My neighbor is on vacation,,,, however,,, I picked up a fuel filter from the dealer today and while I was there I dropped by the service department for an update on his little bubba. They are rebuilding the MMM gear box with a new output shaft for the press fit in the old pulley. I hoped this works this time... the last time the drive pulley came lose they just bolted the old parts together and sent it home.

I wish him luck if they are reusing the old pully. It is worn the same as the output shaft, maybe not as much but is still worn.
Hopefully, when the pully just slides onto the new shaft and has play on the key they will realize it.
