So today I ran down the road with the 185 and got pulled over by a trooper. No rear lights. No ticket just a verbal warning. Nice guy lucky me. So the wiring is there for lights but I'll need to install a flasher switch in the dash , there's a spot for it and a flasher can. I don't know if those wires are there but I have the schematic for the harness that shows all those lights as "optional " they look like a regular double filiment lights. Anyone add these and switch?

Always AMBER facing rearward. You also should have an SMV reflective triangle facing rearward as well. Rear facing need to flash.

Red to the rear, amber to the front. Red always means the rear of a vehicle, trailer, car, ect.... ;)

Sorry not trying to confuse you.

If you're doing a single light dual lens / dual element bulb (running light and blinkers) then the rear should be red and amber to the front.

If your doing a dual light, quad lens (or half red half amber) with single element bulbs for each, then red is wired for the running and amber or red for the rear blinkers and amber to the front.

If you're doing a single element light (blinker only) then red or amber to rear and amber to the front.

If you use any lights with LED's, which are Great for older tractors with small dynamos and alternators, get a LED compatible flasher. ;)

As per the link I posted earlier, I prefer amber front & red rear. But I also called AZ Department of Public Safety and they confirmed my choice as correct. Your results may vary by state. Their main concern seemed to be that I don't use any blue lights of any kind.

Another thread ruined by Flipper because he can’t just answer the OP’s question and doesn’t know as much as he claims to. Yes most tractors use Amber lights on the fenders and/or cab roof facing both forward and back for turn signals and 4 way flashers for traveling down the road. Most manufacturers have put them on from the factory since the 70’s. Most also have red marker lights on the fenders facing back that come one when headlights are turned on, starting in the 80’s. They also either have reflectors or lenses on the lights that act as reflectors.
I would buy a pair of lights like these and mount them on the fenders. https://www.amazon.com/Partsam-Wate...1563106542&s=gateway&sprefix=amber+tur&sr=8-9
Then buy a LED compatibile flasher to run it. It can either be one made to plug into a socket or have a pigtail to hard wire in. Make sure you have a triangle Slow Moving Vehicle Sign on the back and you should be safe to go.

In BC the regulations permit red or amber flashing lamps to the rear. The OP should verify the requirements with the trooper.

Ok back to the thread,
I pulled up the dash to verify the wiring is there ,and it seems it is. 2 wires, Red/green for the flasher unit. 3 wires for the flasher switch. There are wires that match the electrical diagram on each axle . So I'll source a proper switch ,flasher can, lights after I talk to the trooper to verify the color.

So I stopped by the coffee shop tonight to shoot the bull with the guys and anyone else that chimes in. Tonight there was a townie there. (Town cop) We had been discussing the subject. So we asked him. He said if you are putting on new then 1 red running light and 1 amber flashing light facing rear 1 forward. I said it has nothing now and thats why I am asking. He said you can do a flashing amber but if you get stopped again you could get towed depending on the officers discretion. So there it is red and amber rear amber forward. Makes the powers to be happy.

I have installed flashers on three older Lseries so far. It's pretty easy. I put a generic switch, two contact flasher, and amber flashers from Princess Auto on each. Had to tweak things slightly for the two prong flasher can.

So the switch for the flashing lights is a tough one for kubota to find , there not sure what the parts are other than a "switch" so I emailed kubota tech to see if they can clarify the part.

Call a dealer and find out if those are even available?

I looked and none of them are in stock at any dealer, that's not a good sign.
It usually means they are discontinued parts. :(

Ordered all but the label be in on friday.!

Also to do red and amber lights I would need 4 lights on the fenders so I bought 2"×4" refective led l0 diode lights 2 red 4 amber and a led compatible flasher can . I'll make a nice mount for them and install them.

So are you going with Kubota parts? I couldn't be bothered when a switch, lights, flasher, etc cost me total $35 at Princess Auto.
