Looking for suggestions on getting a key cut for my tractor and I do not have an original. Dealer can only sell me a blank. Is there not a pathway that’s easier than this?

The key your dealer sells is already cut. There have been 3 different keys depending on the model. Your model uses the second version which is by far the most common. Kubota part number is PL501-68920, which is a set of two keys.

Kubota keys only provide minimal security. Your neighbor's key will start your machine. Kubota mechanics only carry a few keys which cover all models.

Your dealer needs a slap upside the head for not telling you the key is already "cut" to fit.

I recently bought a Kubota B1750 at an auction and somebody walked away with the key that was in it. I googled it and found 2 for $6.00 delivered. Don't remember where I got it but you should have no problem finding a couple.

Thanks for this very good advice. Went back to dealer armed with this information and was able to get a pair for $10. I also spoke to manager about the absolutely false information his parts desk gave me about replacement keys.
