Looks good. I left mine as they came. Quite a handy option. I've used mine for moving down trees and removing old posts so far. Did not get the shackles for the underside.

I went with the weld on because my neighbor welds. A hook on each end of the bucket and an anchor hook in the middle. Did the anchor hook as a precaution to keep chain or strap from popping out/coming lose. Great enhancement and great quality products from Ken, well worth the investment.

I made my own 'clampon' hooks from scrap around the shop so zero cost, 1hr labour. Can be adjusted anywhere on the bucket top lip. Lifts HD F250 rearends easily !

My only concern would be bending the upper lip of the bucket with prolonged use. Kubota offers (I think) 3 different buckets, a light material bucket an intermediate one and a heavy duty bucket, which is what I have. The top lip on the HD bucket actually has a pipe section welded across the top and 3 gussets welded from the front bottom to the rear as well as side gussets from the cutting edge up the side. I've put mine through it more than once and it never protests. In fact, I run a double hay spear that affixes to the bucket and no issues at all. She flexes a bit but never bends.

I'm surprised the dealer didn't tell you that. I know when I bought my M9 new, my dealer told me and I got the HD bucket.

An additional thought re hooks.

In addition to 3 hooks, one on each corner and one in the middle of my M7040 bucket, I included a forth.

The forth hook, shown by the yellow arrow, is backwards. I have learned that, when I cannot pick up something on a chain, by running the chain up the back side of my bucket to the yellow hook, the lifting capacity increases significantly.

It moves the load to the loader arm pins which is where the greatest lifting is available.

I need to install some hooks on the bucket of my new 2601 but I am not sure if one type is better than another. I have done some research as to weather it is better to weld or bolt on the hooks. I can go either way but not sure if one method is preferred over the other. Ant thoughts?

Ditto. I was going to buy Kens hooks, but before I got around to ordering them, I just hooked the chain to the back of the bucket. Works so well I don't need or want hooks. I guess if you were using chain with no hook on the end they would be needed.

Guess if you are anal about scratching the bucket, then hooks would work. My tractors are working ag tractors so a few scratches on the bucket mean nothing to me. Besides, you can pant it. In fact I paint my buckets every couple years. Sandblast first, prime and paint.

What?? Those scratches aren't supposed to be there?? :D
Have to laugh at this one. Welded on hooks and primed and painted, touched up bucket. Man it looked good for about a minute, lol, should have taken a picture. Scratches are character, right?

Thanks for those good pics. I'm going to use some of the ideas in this thread to make some hooks for my MX5200. I've gotten by with clipping a chain to the edge, but I'd like to adjust where on the chain I pull from rather than only pulling from the end. I'm pretty good with a welder and I have a CNC plasma table so the technical aspect is covered. I just needed some design ideas to copy.

I've had my Ken's hooks on my b2620 for about 5 yrs. They are the kind with the extension channel to clear the bucket lip, i love them and have used the crap out of them .
