Yesterday I put a spinner on the steering wheel lets say around the close to the top of the steering wheel when the wheels are straight however when I was driving out my road and working with it I noticed that it and the steering wheel were in a different position so I'm a little concerned that something is stripped. When I went out this morning and tried moving the wheel without starting it there was plenty of resistance and I couldn't feel any give and the wheel would not spin without moving the wheels. Doesn't seem normal to me.

Very common misconception. The power assist steering on these tractors do not operate like most other systems. Without trying to explain how they work,,, what you are experiencing is normal..

Thanks very much for your reply. I should have asked last night so I wouldn't have the crick in my neck, lol. Yes I just got off the phone, was talking to the dealer and he said that was normal. He explained to me that the steering is hydraulic, what a relief. I guess it is true, your not too old to learn something new.;)

With hyd steering there's no direct link. Only thing you are doing is moving fluid. After a little seat time you won't even notice it any more.

Just discovered this myself a few days ago. Luckily found a thread on the internet explaining it so that put my mind at ease.

Boys I felt pretty stupid after I asked the guy at Kubota. All the times I changed the fluids and have been under these tractors, just never thought about it I guess, maybe just too used to working on cars and trucks to wrap my brain around there being another way. Anyway as soon as he started talking the light went on, well what light is left:rolleyes:. Thank you all for the reply and kinda made me feel a little bit better about not being the only one.

Steering wheel spinner....

Polish power steering, standard equipment on my tractors.

I have one that has a picture of a gal inside and when you turn the wheel, her dress comes off.....:D

The other one is a plain one.

Lol, Flip you crazy old coot, you brought back memories of drink glasses I used to have that did the same thing. We'd probably get in trouble with women's rights groups now a days if we did have the things we used to.

Talk about irritating the rights-groups... As a little boy I recall how in East Texas in the early '50s how every car had one and they were not called steering wheel spinners... but were referred to as N*****-Knobs (and sling-shots were called N******-Shooters.) I recently overheard an acquaintance say, "That word was a regular part of the vocabulary... It didn't have any bad connotation with it... It was accepted speech."
I don't think he ever understood the significance of the matter, and I think there's plenty of folks who will still never get it.

Guess I'm not socially or politically correct as we still have those glasses as well. In the buffet cabinet.

I looked on Flea-Bay after I posted my comment as as I suspected, the undressing gals are still available....
