l2501 owners opinions please

If you have experience I your terrain with that type of tire I see no reason to go differently. A few things about R1s...first they arent as thick of a wall so they will puncture easily (not sure about your 1979 versions but todays probably arent as thick). You might want to consider some R1s with more plys if you can get them. Second, R1s will raise the center of gravity of the machine a bit making it more prone to roll. If you have sidehills this isnt always a good thing. Consider dealer installed wheel spacers or flipping the rims if available on that machine to widen it.

Other than that, great machine and best of luck!

R1 tires set to maximum tread width are wider than r4 tires making the machine more stable on hills. Not less stable.

my 2501 just turned 1 years old 2 weeks ago, 112 hours, 2-300 gallons of fuel,10 acres of stumps, 3 mile plus roads built, countless tasks for friends and neighbors..... can say it is the best piece of equipment I have ever owned!!! not to big not to small. cheap to run, cheap to service, and tough as nails!!!.

I have no earthly idea what it burn nor does it matter much at this point.... tryin to add a bit of drama...... thats feeding a pickup, chipper and some other random iron around the farm.

Sounds like you put it to work. That is good to hear. Mine is on order and can't wait to do some work with it. So far I've been hearing good things about them.

Hahaha, I was going to say, that fuel useage seems WAY high, LOL.

I have 600 hours on my B and have used no where near that.

Right now, I am averaging about 1 gallon an hour, but it's hard to say since this was over the winter. Long warm ups with excessive idling and then about 2000 RPM while plowing snow.

I'm excited to see what it does while mowing.

Here's a funny story for you. For 18 years I mowed my my lawns with a 16 h.p. B&S powered MTD lawn tractor. It used 4.5 gallons every mow.

Now I do it with my B2620 and with 4.5 gallons of diesel I can do it 13 times! LOL.

We get 13.5 feet of annual snowfall here and I fill it maybe three to four times a winter. And I have to clear an area big enough to turn my dump truck/dump trailer around in.

These small Kubota's are incredible on fuel.

Well I put on 1 1/2 hrs playing in rock pile fixing the ruts in drive and pulling my old farmall f20 out of its resting place and up on to a trailer to its new home. Out with the old in with the new. Putting the money towards some forks or piranha tooth bar maybe.

Congrats on your new tractor. I too have the L2501 and love it. Have had it for 9 months and just went over 40 hours. Most of those were from snow plowing this winter. Good luck with yours.

Yep-- took pictures of the Farmall Super C leaving down the road, but loving the HST where less pressure on the treadle means MORE OOMPH to pull out the scrub bushes....

The titan clamp on forks are great. I think I have the 42" 1500lbs set, and although one had a shoddy weld I had to reinforce, they've been super handy!

OMG, this is why I live in Carolina. We dont shovel heat! LOL
