Hello,

My L2550 will not turn over. I can jump it with my truck. I checked the alt with a volt meter and it usually puts out 11 to 13 V. The 5 year old battery shows 12 V. I cleaned the terminals but it still wont turn over. The idiot light has not come on to show a charging problem. I'm guessing I need a load test and probably a new battery. Am I on the right track?

Pretty much so,the battery is 5 years old so chances are it is gone, I still like to check the Alternator with an ammeter, to really see it's output under loads (I can show 13-15v but not have enough amps to charge or run the systems). Double check all the connections (ground and power) and use this as an opportunity to seal all the connections with some terminal sealer, and the plug in terminals with dielectric grease.
