Yep, the closer you get to the end the faster it goes. I used to hate winter but then again I was a letter carrier and yes you can call me Norm. At lunch time some of us would meet at the pub for lunch and a cold one. A laid back simplier time when people didn't stress over every little thing, man I miss those days. Thought I would never grow old like everyone else but here it is, I'm old. It's more like a ninja toilet paper roll, I didn't see it coming. Oh, look at the time, almost forgot my geritol. You folks have a great day and don't stress over the little stuff.

I've found (from experience) that the 'Golden Years' are nothing but the golden stream I deposit in the commode in the morning. Only 'golden' thing I can find about being old, well that and how long it takes to relieve myself that is....

One day at a time....

I like to live by the 'tape measure rule'.

Take a tape measure and run it out to 100 inches and lock it and lay it on a table. Put your finger on your age (whatever that is). Look up too 100. Take solace in the fact that you won't make it that far (100). Look back to the beginning of the tape measure (1). Look at all the time you wasted between the beginning and your age and then at the time you have left.

That time between your age and 1 is gone, never to be replaced and the time between your age and 100 isn't very much.

Better enjoy the time you have left because it';s short and you wasted all that time (1 to your present age).

How I look at getting old.

People like to 'think' that life is forever. It ain't. We are all here for a set amount of time, some longer, some shorter but no matter what, your time here is finite. Better enjoy it because it could come to an end sooner than you think.

You come into this world, naked and afraid and you leave the same way.

Thoughts to ponder this fine morning.....

I had to look it up CAT I knew I heard it some place

"You do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away" (James 4:14).

You know it amazes me sometimes the depth of people in here, some are well springs of knowledge and wisdom, and others are just cesspools of uncongealed thoughts.
I guess it is true. It is what we do that defines us, not what we say we will do.
Suns up snows is melting it bright and warm and Im gona play in the garage :D

Yesterday I stopped to shoot the breeze with the guys at auto shop I've used 30 years.

Was hangin' in the shop, and manager asked if I said hello to the "Old Fart" in the last bay that's been there all those years....

The "Old Fart" yells to manager "careful...he's a couple years older than me"....:p

Very prophetic, skeets.

We all like to think we are in the "skills and knowledge" camp...

I know I have "cesspool of uncongealed thoughts" moments...:D.

BearBait, you just nailed me !!!! I'm coming down with the CRS syndrome. I'll walk 30 yards from the house to the shop and will have forgotten what I went to get! ! I talked to my doctor, who I graduated school with, about it and all he told me was that the superb herb from our high school and college days catches up with us all at different times.
