I run a 60" Landpride on my B7100. No problems. Sometimes I need to go a little slow if the grass is really tall. I mow a field behind my house 2 - 3 times a year. Sometimes the grass gets really tall. If it is over 1 foot tall I usually run is low range 2nd gear.

Kubotasam sounds like you'd be alot better off with a bush hog rather then a finishing mower. A bush hog or rotary mower as they are correctly called does best is thick heavy grass then what a finish mower will do.

Depends on weight of mower and minimum HP rating for mower to operate correctly. You have 16HP motor and 13 PTO HP. You also need front weights to counter balance mower. Three point lift is rated at 300 to 400 lbs max from what I have read on the B7100.

According to Tractor Data & the owner's manual, the B7100 3 point is rated at 469kg or 1036lbs. I have a B7100 & the 3 point is as strong as my Ford 8N

I an sure you are correct. However finances dictate using the equipment that I have right now.

You can pick up a bush hog alot cheaper then a finishing mower if you are in the market to purchase a mower which I assumed you were.

According to the manual I have for the B7100 the maximum weight for the 3 point lift is below(meaning less than) 180Kg/400 Lbs and the maximum drawbar weight/trailer loading weight is below(less than) 500kg/1100 lbs without trailer brakes and below(less than) 1000Kg/2200 Lbs with trailer brakes, The tractor weighs 490Kg/1080 Lbs

That is what my manual says also. Thanks for verifying.

No prob Williecnc,

Also noted in the manual is that these weight limits are for flat level ground, Meaning that any hills or grades would reduce the maximum weights accordingly.

My 7100 has a Woods RM59 on it, and it handles it fine. I did add front weights, but that was for the tiller- it mowed fine without them, and I have hills. Of course, you would be even more stable with some weight on the front.
The tractor will power and pick the mower up fine.

I have lifted plenty with my B7100 and there is no way I would be able to lift over 500 lbs especialy a rear mount mower or rotary cutter without front end becoming very light even with my front weights.

I run a JD 261 finish mower on the back of my B7100 and I have plenty of hills, enough so I added a ROPS just to make me feel better and I always wear my seatbelt. The 261 weighs about 500lbs and the 3pt lifts it with ease. I needed to add 200lbs of weights to the front of the tractor to keep the nose down before I added a loader to the tractor with the loader the tractor is nicely balanced with the 261, which is a 5ft finish mower and it powers it through thick grass nicely. If overgrown which is what I usually use it on, I do slow down to second low range, but otherwise its however fast I feel comfortable bouncing along it can deal.

Mine is a 1979 B7100DT not an HST, but the 3pt lifts the mower like it is nothing. And no I don't know what the specs say for the tractor because I haven't read them.

I never said that these tractors won't lift over 500lbs with the three point lift but to do it safely and within the rated specs of the tractor is another story. Believe me I have pushed mine to the limits.

The 261 weighs about 500lbs and the 3pt lifts it with ease.
I do not think the ability to lift something is the concern, I think the reason for concern would be what the physical limits of the components of the three point assembly, One area that would concern me would be the splined ends of the rock shaft and the mounting points for the lower link arms, Lifting the mower while in a stationary position is one thing but driving along with the mower in the up position places a lot of leveraged stress on the whole assembly. Kubota placed maximum weight ratings in their manuals for a reason.

My 7100 has almost 700 hours on it now, the previous owner (original owner) bought it new, with the mower, and it hasn't suffered any consequences yet. I'm not too worried about it. I don't know exactly how much a Woods RM59 weighs, but I see no need to worry or change my setup.
