I an sure you are correct. However finances dictate using the equipment that I have right now.Kubotasam sounds like you'd be alot better off with a bush hog rather then a finishing mower. A bush hog or rotary mower as they are correctly called does best is thick heavy grass then what a finish mower will do.
According to the manual I have for the B7100 the maximum weight for the 3 point lift is below(meaning less than) 180Kg/400 Lbs and the maximum drawbar weight/trailer loading weight is below(less than) 500kg/1100 lbs without trailer brakes and below(less than) 1000Kg/2200 Lbs with trailer brakes, The tractor weighs 490Kg/1080 LbsAccording to Tractor Data & the owner's manual, the B7100 3 point is rated at 469kg or 1036lbs. I have a B7100 & the 3 point is as strong as my Ford 8N
That is what my manual says also. Thanks for verifying.According to the manual I have for the B7100 the maximum weight for the 3 point lift is below(meaning less than) 180Kg/400 Lbs and the maximum drawbar weight/trailer loading weight is below(less than) 500kg/1100 lbs without trailer brakes and below(less than) 1000Kg/2200 Lbs with trailer brakes, The tractor weighs 490Kg/1080 Lbs
I run a JD 261 finish mower on the back of my B7100 and I have plenty of hills, enough so I added a ROPS just to make me feel better and I always wear my seatbelt. The 261 weighs about 500lbs and the 3pt lifts it with ease. I needed to add 200lbs of weights to the front of the tractor to keep the nose down before I added a loader to the tractor with the loader the tractor is nicely balanced with the 261, which is a 5ft finish mower and it powers it through thick grass nicely. If overgrown which is what I usually use it on, I do slow down to second low range, but otherwise its however fast I feel comfortable bouncing along it can deal.I have lifted plenty with my B7100 and there is no way I would be able to lift over 500 lbs especialy a rear mount mower or rotary cutter without front end becoming very light even with my front weights.
I do not think the ability to lift something is the concern, I think the reason for concern would be what the physical limits of the components of the three point assembly, One area that would concern me would be the splined ends of the rock shaft and the mounting points for the lower link arms, Lifting the mower while in a stationary position is one thing but driving along with the mower in the up position places a lot of leveraged stress on the whole assembly. Kubota placed maximum weight ratings in their manuals for a reason. The 261 weighs about 500lbs and the 3pt lifts it with ease.
