I could not keep the chain tight. You have a pivot with a jamb nut that you tighten to 400 ft. lbs. There is a 1/2" diameter rod that goes against the chain. I tighten the nut up with a 8' pipe on the wrench.

I had a friend machine a spacer for the idler sprocket.

Part #23 is the rod that goes against the chain.

Did you just drill a hole to mount the sprocket? If so how do you adjust the chain when it wears?
I have a RTA15 series and have never had an issue with mine loosening or breaking. I only have to take up the slack every couple of years.

I can not adjust chain. When it gets to loose I will replace the chain.
