Kubota RTV 900 OEM Block Heater Question

I have a few questions if anyone could help me out:

1. Does the block heater regulate itself? Will it turn off if it gets to a certain temperature?

2. Is testing the element with an ohm meter a good test to see if the element is still working?

3. If replacing an existing heater, how do you get the existing element out of the engine head?

Thanks all!!!

#1: Yes and no, it does have a thermostat in it to keep it from boiling its self to death. But don't leave it plugged in for more than an hour or 2 at max, otherwise you'll run your electric bill sky high as the are a major electric consumer.

#2 Best way to test it is to plug it in and see if it gets hot. Should only take about 15 minutes to be able to tell.

#3 it depends on the type of install, some are threaded in, some are threaded into an adapter, and some are just driven in (wedge fit) to the freeze plug hole.
Picture of it will answer that.
