G4200 PTO Lever Not Functional - Missing Part?

Haven't had this apart yet, as I just bought it, but I'd like to try and describe it. I checked the online parts stores diagrams, but they don't reveal any details that I can use.

The PTO lever essentially does nothing. It moves freely - too freely. The cable is not being actuated at all when moving the lever. What I've discovered so far is that the cable sheath is not attached to anything at the console end. There is a rectangular hole in the bottom front of the console where the cable enters to hook to the PTO mechanism.

It looks to me like something is missing that should secure the cable as it enters the console housing. I know it can't possibly work with the end of the cable not secured to anything. If anyone can describe the missing part, or send a picture - or even better, the part I need and where I can get it, I would appreciate it. I don't like having the PTO constantly engaged (Yes, someone has also bypassed the safety switch.

Post a picture of what you have.
It looks like the cable is only attached at the jacket at the far side, not the lever side.

That seems like a strange setup. Then again, I'm used to things like the brakes on a bicycle where both ends of the sheath are fixed.

I'm planning to tear into it in the morning, so should know something soon.

Found the issue. There is nothing missing, and the cable sheath does in fact "connect" at both ends, as I suspected.

The cable is FROZEN inside the sheath. Got it hanging in the basement now, forcing a little Liquid Wrench into it every hour or so. I can move it about an inch now. We'll see what happens overnight.
