Hello ALL,
I'm new to Kubota and this forum, so I hope I'm doing this correctly.
Here's my question, I listen to Vic from orange tractor, I'm sure he said that my "Kubota L175 doesn't have a water pump"??
Can anyone verify this?
Thanks, kubotadriver

I just did a quick search of"Kubota L175 Water Pump and got a buch of results showing a water pump for the L175, You could always just look and see if there is a pump or circulator on the front of the engine.
Here are a few examples:

http://www.ssbtractor.com/Kubota-tractor-parts/water-pump.html

http://compare.ebay.com/like/300526765773?ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar

Looks like a small curculating pump, Also looks like the serial number range determines the pump

Mine doesn't have one. May be some of the later ones had them? Welcome to the forum Kubotadriver.

Mine doesn't have one either. I have seen those water pumps on ebay that are supposed to be for an L175, my question is how are they going to fit? The engine's cooling system was designed to be circulated by using the thermo-syphon theory.

I suspect that forcing coolant through the system would result in overheating because the coolant wouldn't lose enough heat from the radiator.

I don't trust ebay for technical information, I have seen way too many old suppository molds advertised as bullet molds on that website.

Kubotadriver, if you clean the cooling system and run a good antifreeze mixture in it, you shouldn't have any problems. I have the same setup as yours, mine has turf tires and makes a great lawnmower. After giving it a good workout in heavy grass you can hear the coolant burbling when you shut the tractor off.

Thanks for the reply---
Yes I did look for a pump, didn't see one and the cooling fan is just mounted to a bearing block on top of the engine? Oh-well old tractor -old technology, but it seems to work.

Wow, that is different than mine. I have an electric fan mounted directly behind the radiator.

Like you said, Old tech, but it works. I have heard that a lot of the smaller old Farmall's like the A, B, and C had thermo syphon cooling. I am sure there are many others. One thing about it, you don't have to worry about a waterpump leaking.
