In need of a Snowblower pto shaft

I picked up a used Farm King 600 snowblower, it seems to have a general use pto shaft on it. I need to find a pto shaft with a sheer bolt on one of the knuckles. Anyone have a link to who sells them? I***8217;ve looked at the normals like TSC, and other end Tool with no luck.

Does the shaft bolt on to the snowblower? If so then that is most likely the shearbolt. Check out Agri-Supply, they have shafts plus parts for shafts that includes knuckles with a shear bolt built in.

I'm certain they have what you need and should be willing to send a PTO your way. Their web presence isn't the greatest but their store front and help is unbelievable.

Worse case would be to buy a standard PTO and switch one of the ends to the shear pin design.

you could try buhler allied farm king etc all made by the same company

you could perhaps get one where the shear bolt or pto bolt is in a different place

Buy all my replacement PTO shafts from Agri-Supply. Just bought a new one for my Miller Pro rotary hay rake that is 20 years young and needed a new PTO shaft. Mine is smooth on the implement end and 6 spline on the tractor end and the shaft was $76.99 plus 20 dollars shipping. Series 4. I bought it long and cut it down to fit. ASC number 102266.

TSC wanted over 200 bucks for a Weasler.

Thanks guys! Well I***8217;m sanding the blower down to paint it tonight to Kabota orange and I found a 7/16 sheer bolt on the side shaft the turns the shaft that goes to the sprockets. So I wonder if I***8217;m safe just running the pto with no sheer bolt since there***8217;s one on the auger shaft? The fan blade is direct drive with no sheer bolt.

No you need shear bolt protection on the shaft to protect the gearbox and the fan.

There should be a shear bolt for the fan also. Suggest you remove them and verify the augers and fans rotate freely on their respective shafts and are well greased to minimize corrosion.

I personally always had a shear pin on the PTO just in case.

Ok. I checked out Agri Supply. I will call them in the AM and see if they have a Shear pin shaft. I found the yokes with a shear pin but not the entir shaft.

I’m still unable to come up with much. Farm King wants $436.00 for a OEM shaft .
Agri supply said that there shear yoke will not mate up to my shaft... even though the first guy I talked to said it would. There measurements for the yoke fit my u-joint. And it’s the standard 1-3/8 -6 spline to the PTO. I should be able to remove my yoke and pop my joint caps in there’s.

The OEM shear yoke on the 600 series blowers takes (2)-5/16 Grade 8 bolts. Seems like that’s defeating the purpose. Lol.. here’s a pic of the OEM shaft of a friends same blower.

If the u-joint end has the same dimensions and the spline is correct, it seems it should work.

I have the single shear yoke comming with new joints. I hope the single bolt don’t shear to easy.

Upon taking my shaft apart I found I have a series 3 shaft and not a series 4. The 4 is 74mm c-clip to c-clip and the 3 is 70mm. A series 3 with a shear bolt is nonexistent. Back to square one...***128530;
