Purchased a 1990 B7200HST this spring. Now I'm working on a "Frankenstein" plow setup for it. The plow origin is unknown. I modified the mounting bracket and painted it Kubota orange. The Plow frame is from and earlier model Kubota B7100 series. I made a custom frame mount to attach it to the tractor. I will be using heavy duty linear actuators to lift and pivot the plow. I still have to make a wire harness for the whole thing. I am pleased with the progress so far.

Interesting. Think I'd have used a hydraulic cylinder for angling versus a lineal actuator. Cylinders are a lot less money. Looks nice though.

You might want to think about a swivel bearing aka a rod end on your linear actuator. This would prevent binding the shaft from the play in the plow linkage.

Very nice work and looks professional!

Cylinder vs linear actuator, yes. But factor in some sort of hydraulic source supply tap, hydraulic return, spool valve, lines, and quick connects, not so much.
Linear actuator just needs a wire, fuse, and switch.
In the case of my plow, it is setup with all the pivots & mounting points already. Installation would be simple, although electric actuation would be slower and less powerful. Probably couldn't pivot while on the ground or in a pile of dirt or snow, but I could work around that.

Having never bought a linear actuator (but having priced them for my new NH round baler that actuates the net wrap knife and mechanism), they appear to be much more costly than a hydraulic cylinder. Of course having said that, if you have no front hydraulics then I would imagine the actuator versus plumbing a hydraulic line and control would be a wash anyway.

My B7200 had a remote hydraulic valve. It is dead simple to pick off hydraulic power on these tractors. I've just installed a dual spool valve with float function on one of my B7510's - same deal there. Cost of hydraulics is still a good bit less than linear actuators of the same stroke/strength. Robustness of the hydraulics wins hands-down.

That having been said, I am in the process of installing linear actuators to control the chute deflector on two of my front-mount snowblowers. I'm mounting them "upside down" so the shaft points downward so as to reduce the probability of moisture and other contaminants leaking through the seal around the shaft.

Yeah, linear actuators are definitely cool, but for brute strength I'll take hydraulics.

The only concern I would have with using a larger linear actuator would be the drain on the battery as these tractors have limited alternator capacity. Would be dependent on the frequency of operation. Good option if it works and certainly simpler to install. I installed a small one on my blower for the chute deflector but used hydraulics for everything else.
