I have a problem with being able to lift my leg high enough to step up on to the deck of my BX tractor. I have been stepping on the mower deck and then stepping up on the tractor deck. If I keep doing this will it cause any problem with the mower deck? I would be interested in seeing a picture of a step that has been installed on a BX tractor.

Nawww it wont hurt anything,, I have been doing that for years and have never had a problem. The step he is talking about I believe can only be used with out the deck being on, sooo just go get some stair tape with the grit on the one side so you dont slip and just keep on doing what yoru doing

I wouldn't worry about it.

Unless you're a 300 pounder, you will likely damage nothing but the paint.

FWIW, the 72" terrain following mower used on the B2650, B3350 and other, older models has a treadplate step for mounting/dismounting.

Bully step works well and as mentioned Paul Short makes them. I've used the mower deck since 2003 and no issue; however getting on while the deck is off presents problems.

I have to do the same thing. Another reason I should have bought the B I wanted instead of the BX I was talked into. There is an optional step for the B.

All the suggested optional steps shown attach to the loader sub-frame. I don't have a loader, what I need is a step that attaches directly to the tractor, and is compatible with the mower deck in place.

A couple inches can be a lot at times, especially when the mower is off and the snowblower is on. No cheating there, just difficulty.

If you think you have issues you need to get into and out of my M's. Long way up there with only 2 steps. Not designed for the Japanese people at all.

:D No matter how bad you think you have it, someone has it worse. I try to never forget that. 40 years ago, jumping on and off those big farm tractors was so darn easy, now I wouldn't even want to try.
