just finished the 50 hr maint. on my 2301b. i used the vacumn trick for the hydraulic oil filter change, worked great! lost less than a coffee up of fluid. OTT always a big help!
I trimmed the nose of a #4 plug i got from amazon to make sure it would fit, then put in the finger of a nitrile glove to be sure not to contaminate system with rubber shavings from plug. It worked great lost very little fluid but you do got to be quick. allowed me all the time in the world to clean screen not that i needed it as only saw a couple fibers on it.What are guys using as a temporary plug?
When doing a hydro filter change only and not the oil like at 50 hrs remove the cap where you fill and insert the hose of a shop vac. Loosen filter to just prior to fluid dripping out then turn on shop vac. Remove filter install new one and turn off shop vac.OK, I'm new what's the vacuum trick?
