How do you tell what year model your tractor is if you didn’t buy it new?

Tractors don't have year model changes the way cars do. A tractor model may be unchanged for years.

For many tractors, tractordata.com can connect the serial number to year of production.

You can take the engine S/N and figure out what month and year it was built. Then you would know the tractor was built after that time.

So for my tractor the engine serial number tells me that it is a 03 Series that was built in April 2014. I bought the tractor in Dec 2014.

The engine serial number on 90% of the engines, is on the flat spot facing up, right side, just outside the injection pump.
